"Jack!" She called out his name.

He turned around and his eyes went wide with shock. What was she doing here?

Rapunzel waved to him and went inside Tiffany's. She was star struck by all the glorious diamonds. "Oh my goodness." She said.

"Rapunzel what are you doing here?" He whispered trying not to draw attention to himself.

"I wanted to see the city! Oooh who are you buying that for? Is it for your friend Teeth?"

"Tooth, and sort of, she's sick and her boss wanted her to go out and get a necklace for his wife. I can't talk or I'm going to look like a crazy person." He muttered.

He brought the bag to the cashier. He was a tall slender man and Jack could smell the stench of his stiff cologne from over the desk. The tall man smirked looking Jack up from head to toe knowing well he could not afford a light bulb from this store let alone actual jewelry. 

"Credit I assume?" the cashier asked. 

"Debit," Jack said, 

The cashier's eyebrows rose in surprise as he took the card form Jack's hand. "Ah business debit card, I see, well we will have this gift wrapped and ready to go for you," 

  Jack felt like he could breathe again after leaving the store doors. Rapunzel walked beside him not knowing if she should bring up his discomfort in the store or not. 

"Do you want to talk about it?"

"Can we discuss this later when I'm not in public." Jack said.

"Just put up your phone and pretend you're talking to someone on the other line when really it's me."she said quite impressed with herself.

Jack knew she was not t going to let up so he got his cellphone out of his pocket and held to his ear. 

"I really need to get back to work," he said.

"I know, but I don't like how that guy talked to you,"

"It's just something people have to deal with sometimes, can we please talk about something else," Jack started towards a bench that was outside of a local cafe. He sat down and Rapunzel followed in pursuit. 

"Well I think I know how to make you happy, "

"We discussed this, finishing a novel, case closed,"

"Case reopened. I found something better! I'm going to bring Hiccup and Merida to you."

Jack thought he was going to be sick "No, Rapunzel. I told you things are different now. They don't want to see me."

"Of course they would. They're your best friends."

"Were, high school is over Rapunzel. I need to go. Please do not bring them to New York. I mean it." Jack demanded and hung up the phone and went back out into the street.

"Fine if he doesn't think they want to see him. I'll just have to talk to them myself." Rapunzel said.
