...Adeline/Rapunzel's POV...

Mothers been gone for a day now and I had kept chickening out on going out to explore the world. I wanted to go see the lights so bad I was about to disobey mother. I want to see them so bad that I still might. I'd been busying myself with cleaning and painting and feeding and playing with my dog Riley. Who mother had gotten for me after the first time she had ever hit me. It was an apology and Riley did make me a lot less lonely so I accepted.

It was midday and I was cooking lunch for myself when I heard a loud bang. I went to check the noise when I saw two men stumbling away from what looked like a bunch of men with swords. I looked on worried for the two men before making a split decision and calling out to the men. They looked up at me and I beckoned them over quickly dropping a rope down for them.

"GRAB ON! I'll PULL YOU UP!" The strangers looked at each other for a with hesitation "Cmon! They got swords? Don't they?" At the reminder of their situation the two grabbed on and I began to bull them up. The two got to the top and stumbled onto my floor.

"You guys aren't gonna rob me now that I've let you up are you?" I asked with a small giggle.

The taller of the two chuckled as he checked on his friend for any injuries "Wouldn't dream of it but i don't suppose we could trouble for some wat-" he stopped when he finally turned around . "well hello there." He stopped short upon seeing me.

"Hello." I blinked at him with a wave  and goofy smile and the shorter of the two shoved the other a bit before clearing his throat.

"Yes, hello, I'm Merlin and this is my friend Gwaine. We're sorry to impose but it seems those bandits had it out for us."

"I'm Rapunzel and that's alright I've never had any visitors before." I bounced exitedly on the soles of my feet. "Let alone friends." 

"Well today's your lucky day." Gwaine started "We could be your friends if you really want some."

"Oh could you?" Rapunzel gushed wistfully.

"We could. In fact we kind of owe you for saving our backsides back there."Gwaine smiled as he took hold of her hand and kissing it, leaving Rapunzel to giggle at the funny gesture.

"You're an odd pair aren't you?"
