It's not every day the Hamato family gets to have a day to relax, let alone go on a family vacation. Mona Lisa is constantly working alongside her Salamandrian military as well as helping the Mighty Mutanimals. It's tiring but worth it to help provide for her family. For Raphael, not only does he still try to keep New York city safe by helping his brothers out and going on patrol whenever he can, being a stay at home dad is the most difficult challenge he's ever faced, but in no way does he regret it.

With Mona working off planet, Raph takes it upon himself to train their three children. Nothing too extreme, they are still young after all and deserve to enjoy their childhood to the fullest, something both of their parents never had the chance to do in their youth. After months of hard work, their kids have all improved significantly. Both Raph and Mona knew their kids deserve an award for their hard work, so when asked what they wanted, all three turtle-Salamandrian children had the exact same idea in mind.

"CAMPING!" The children all happily cheered.

Raph and Mona were taken aback by this decision. A family vacation is all they wanted. No new toys or a raise in their allowance, just a week out camping with their parents, and to their surprise it wasn't just a regular camping trip the kids wanted to go on. They can do that anytime they wish since they live on April's old farmhouse, surrounded by acres of wilderness and free space to explore. No. The children wanted to travel into outer space and camp on a distant planet in another galaxy.

"The only time we get to travel into space is when we visit Grandpa on Salamandria," Irrilia, the oldest and only daughter, explains to her parents. A spunky little nine year old girl with golden Salamandrian eyes, green skin and spots running all over her body. She may be young but Irrilia is stubborn like her father, standing her ground with her decision, but also strategic like her mother, knowing exactly what to say to convince her parents with her siblings' proposal.

She smirks, wagging her tail from the excitement of knowing she's got them backed up in a corner, "It's only fair since Mom always gets to go for work, and just two months ago, you both went into space for your date night!"

"Yeah!" Thalos, the middle child and oldest son, jumps in. While his sister had more turtle-like features, Thalos resembled more of a Salamandrian, no shell, but blue skin and a long tail. His pure green eyes sparked as he added, "And we even missed out on watching you guys in a cool fight!"

Despite his young age of seven years old, Thalos has the heart of a true warrior. Though he has heard stories from their youth and has watched them spar, Thalos and his siblings have never had the honor of truly watching their parents in combat. Something they all desire to witness one day.

"...What cool fight?" Raph asked, looking at his son confused.

"When you and Mom came back the next morning from your date," the boy explains, "She had bruises all over her neck and shoulders. You guys fought in a battle, didn't you?!"

"Uhh..." Raph chuckles nervously, "Y-Yeah! Let's go with that."

"The children make a good point," Mona says, kneeling down to face her children, giving them a smile, "I think a family vacation is a wonderful idea. It has been so long since we've all traveled outside the cosmos as a family. I'll contact your Grandfather and see if there are any camping locations he can recommend for us."

"YAY!!" The children cheer, jumping around the living room celebrating their victory. Quickly Irrilia and Thalos rush out the living room and upstairs to their bedrooms to start packing for the trip that is soon to come.

Once alone, Mona looks back at her husband, seeing his arms cross and a displeased look on his face, "Don't give me that look. This is for the children. They deserve a reward for working so hard."

Her words were seeming to get to her husband but his pouty look remained. "I know! I'm not against the idea, the kids deserve it and I do love camping. It's just... you know I don't do well with space travel."

Mona Lisa got closer to Raph, wrapping her arms around his neck. She began playing with the red tails of his mask, an action that quickly caught his attention and broke his grouchy attitude. She bats her eyes and whispers softly into his ear, "I know you're not fond of space travel, but if you're good during this trip, you'll get a reward too~"

Raph's eyes widened from hearing his wife's words, a shiver of excitement ran down his spine. His surprised flustered expression quickly turns to a smirk as he wraps his arms around Mona's hips and pulls her closer to him, their noses gently touching.

"I'd like that." He whispers as the couple share a loving kiss.

"Mommy? Daddy?" A sudden innocent voice says, interrupting the moment.

Raph and Mona break apart from their kiss. Shocked by the interruption, the couple turn to notice that their youngest son, G'throkka, also known as Sal, was still in the room playing on the floor with his toys. The three year old looked up at his parents, staring at them confused.

"Oh, I'm sorry, my little warrior," Mona giggles, picking up her son from the floor and giving him a kiss, "Your father and I got distracted."

"We keep losing track of how many kids we got," Raph chuckles, "Three is enough."

"Agreed."

"Dad! Dad!" The boy smiles, gesturing that he wants to be held by his father. "Are we training now?" The toddler asked happily as Mona handed him to Raph to be held in his father's arms.

"He really looks up to you." Mona smiles, watches her husband hold their youngest son happily.

It's no surprise that Sal looks up to his father. Ever since he was born, Sal always tried to be just like his dad from following him around everywhere he goes, copying everything he does, dressing like him, and wanting to hear stories about his many battles he fought in when he was younger. There's a reason he's often referred to as "Raphael Jr". Not only does his personality reflect his father's but looks as well, with no tail, a fully formed shell, and green skin. Sal resembles his father almost exactly. The only difference between them is Sal's bright golden Salamandrian eyes and scattered spots around his eyes and shoulders.

Raph chuckles as he looks at his son, "Just like your old man, huh Sal? No, we won't be training today. Your siblings are already packing, so how about you and I do the same?"

The little hybrid boy cheered as his father carried him up to his room to join his siblings to get started packing, excitedly anticipating their upcoming vacation beyond the cosmos

"Camping?" Sal Commander's hologram repeated with slight surprise.

As her husband and children were upstairs packing up for their upcoming vacation, Mona took it upon herself to figure out where the family should go. Luckly, Mona Lisa knew exactly who to call. Using her holographic space communicator, she contacted her former Commander, G'throkka, to ask him for advice on a location to take her family for their upcoming camping trip.

"Yes." Mona says, resting on the couch in the living room of the farmhouse, hearing the commotion of her family upstairs, "Irrilia, Thalos, and Sal wish to go on a camping trip in outer space, but Raphael and I are not sure of the best location to take them. I know you've traveled the cosmos a lot more than me and have seen many incredible planets. So, any recommendations?"

"Hmm..." the old commander thinks for a moment, "I've not gone camping since I was a young boy... but I do remember this one spot where my former general took me and other recruits to train when I was a rookie. Help us learn about survival tactics and such. It's a beautiful place full of wild gardens and waterfalls. It's deserted now, nothing but plant life and a few harmless animals live there. Very peaceful. It's almost like paradise!"

"Really? Where is it?"

"In the Muhiri galaxy, on a planet called Thyrina H4. I'll send you the coordinates."

"Thank you, G'throkka."

He smiles, "No need to thank me, Y'gythgba. Just go have fun. Oh! And tell the children and Raphael I said 'Hello'!"

"I will. I'll tell you all about the trip once we return."

With a push of a button, Sal Commander was gone.

"A paradise..." Mona thinks to herself with slight suspicion, "Almost too good to be true..."

The kids were ecstatic for their trip, counting the days and unable to sleep most nights, until finally the day came! After a week of preparing for the trip, the Hamato family was ready to go. Using a Salamandrian ship, courtesy of Grandpa Sal, the family loads up their luggage and supplies onto the ship.

"And just remember to feed Chompy twice a day. Keep a watchful eye on him. There's a fire extinguisher in the living room, kitchen and our bedroom just in case he sets something on fire with his flame farts." Raph thoroughly explains to his brothers outside the farmhouse, "If I find out that anything got burnt or something happened to Chompy while we were gone, I'll kill ya."

"Relax, bro." Mikey said to him with a chilled smile, "You can trust us!"

"Yeah, go enjoy your camping trip with your wife and kids." Donnie adds, "We'll watch Chompy and the house for you."

"I couldn't thank you all enough for doing this," Mona tells them, approaching the brothers after loading the last piece of cargo onto the ship, "I know it was last minute to ask you three to house-sit for us."

"Not at all, Mona." Leo smiles, "If anything comes up for one of us, you've got two other backups."

"We've already agreed on the rotation schedule for who would watch Chompy and the house while you're gone for the week. I've actually put together a detailed schedule on who will watch the house on which days!" Donnie said, taking out a thoroughly detailed scheduled calendar he was far too proud of. "As you can see, Leo will be watching the house on the first three nights, followed by me for two, then Mikey for-"

"Mom! Dad! Come on!" Irrilia shouts, interrupting her uncle's schedule explanation. The adults all turn to see Irrilia and her brothers all eagerly waiting by the ship's entrance, wide excited smiles on their faces.

"We'll be right there, Princess!" Raph tells his daughter, turning back to his brothers, "Sorry to cut your interesting lecture short, Don, but the kids are getting antsy. We'll be back in a week."

"Remember to be careful out there." Leo reminds the couple, crossing his arms with concern, "Just because the galaxy is at peace now doesn't mean there aren't still some crooks running around."

"I reminded him of that everyday, Leonardo, but Raphael has been falling behind on his training." Mona informs him.

"You've been slacking off on your training!?"

"That's so unlike you, bro," Mikey comments.

"Oh, I'm soooorrrrry!" Raph snaps in an over dramatic fashion, "But last I check, I'm the stay at home dad with three kids !"

"Mom! Dad! Come on!!" Thalos now shouts from the spaceship. All the children were now getting impatient, on the brink of exploding from waiting too long.

"Alright, We're coming! We're coming!" Raph laughs as he turns and heads off to the ship.

"Mona Lisa?" Leo says, his words stopping her in her tracks before joining her family, turning to look at the blue turtle, "Just be safe out there. You never know when a time at peace can abruptly come to an end."

Mona nods, before heading off to the spaceship to meet with her children and husband. Having Raph's brothers look after Chompy and house sit for them, the family was off in their ship to head to their camping location where Sal Commander recommended.

The journey took a few hours to reach, but those hours felt like days to everyone. For the children, they were too excited to stay still in their seats, while for Raph it was torture. Throughout the entire ride in the spaceship, he desperately tried to not throw up from feeling motion sickness. Lucky, keeping his kids occupied and entertained while his wife piloted the ship kept Raph distracted from hurling.

Once they made it to planet Thyrina H4, the family could not believe the sight. It was even more beautiful than Mona's commander described. The lands were all lush green, the plant life almost seemed alive, the water was a clear crystal blue with the beaches that had sand that sparkled like pure gold. The moment Mona safely landed the ship, Irrilia, Thalos and Sal quickly dashed out of the ship to explore the area, but remained in sight of their parents. There was so much to do, so many areas to explore. The kids could not wait!

However, despite the beautiful lands, Mona couldn't help but have an unnerving feeling in her gut. Like Leonardo said, "a time at peace can abruptly come to an end" . A simple word of warning from her brother in law has caused Mona to be unable to enjoy her vacation with her family. It haunted Mona Lisa.

Once all their supplies and campsite was set, the children wanted to go swimming at a nearby lake they found.

"Dad! Come in the water with us!" Thalos tells his father while helping Sal put on his swim floaties.

"I'll be right there!" Raph smiles as he helps Mona finish setting up a little picnic area near the lake for her to relax. Raph looks back at his wife, quickly noticing her worried gaze, "Mona, honey, are you alright?"

"Huh? Oh yes, it's just... I've been thinking about what your brother said..."

"Don't listen to Leo. He's always had a tight shell since we were kids. It's just gotten worse after he became Sensai, now he's always on guard about everything. He can't take a single second to relax."

"Still, I'm getting a strange feeling..."

"Oh come on, Mona, what's the worst that could happen?"

"Dad! Hurry up!" the boys shout, already in the water.

Raph chuckles, "Okay okay. I'm coming!"

Before Raph could walk away, Mona stops him by gently grabbing his arm, "My love, don't you feel it too? At all...?"

"Mona, you're worrying too much," he takes her hands, holding them gently as he tells her with a calm reassuring smile, "Leo's worries are making you doubtful. This is just all the stress you've been under from work these last few weeks talking." lifting up his hand, Raph caresses his wife's cheek, giving her a smile of assurance, "Relax. Sal Commander told you himself this place is a paradise, right? So don't worry. Everything will be okay."

Mona wishes she could agree, but her gut feelings never lied to her. Even when first hearing about this place from her commander Mona had her doubts, but after telling Raphael and her kids about it while we're hooked. Pleading for this to be the place they go. Even Raphael was insistent on it, despite not being happy about the space travel part. However, Mona could not have the same excitement as her family. The longer she was here, the more uneasy she felt.

Spending years in the military, Mona Lisa always could sense danger before it could even strike. She was surprised Raphael didn't feel the same, but she could understand that because of his constant care for their children when she's away, his guard has been let down and can't pick up the same sense of potential danger as her. Mona never wishes to bring it up and criticize her husband that often, but it's no secret he has been lacking in his ninja training. Perhaps that is why he isn't getting the same feeling as her. Mona, however, can't be mad at Raphael for it, and perhaps he is right. Maybe she is over thinking it all. Maybe she's too overworked and too tense that everything seems like a threat to her. She has to take this chance to relax. She can't let her worries ruin her time with her family. She deserves this vacation as much as her children do.

With a quick kiss and a smile of assurance, Raphael runs off, cannonballing into the water to join Thalos and Sal.

Mona looks on, watching her husband and sons begin rough housing in the water. The sight of her family together having fun brought a smile to her face, but her mind wandered elsewhere.

Soon Mona Lisa felt a gentle tug on her beach dress, "Mom?" Looking down, Mona finds her daughter Irrilia smiling up at her, "Do you want to collect sea shells with me?"

"I would love to."

Her husband is right. She just needs to relax and enjoy the moment. Taking her daughter's hand, Mona lets Irrilia guide her to the lake's sandy areas to begin their seashell search.

The Hamato family spent their entire day out in the water, so much they lost track of time that the bright double suns of the planet began setting in the distance. As the suns' disappearance dimmed the cosmic sky of the planet, Mona felt a sudden cold breeze followed by dead silence. It grew quiet, not even the animals made a single noise and the plant life around them seemed to shake with fear. An intergalactic paradise now felt off and unsafe. Mona's heart begins to race, feeling a chill up her spine, as her body tensed up. Slowly she picks up Irrilia, holding her close and tight to her in a defensive stance, looking around frantically.

"Mom?" Irrilia asked with confusion and worry, "What's wrong?"

Mona says nothing, looking towards the water, seeing her husband and sons still playing. In the far distance she sees bubbles forming in the water. Her heart began to beat faster.

"Raphael! Boys! Get out of the water! Something is approaching!"

"Huh?" Raph turns around and notices the bubbles approaching at a rapid rate. Quickly Raph grabs his sons and runs back to shore to his wife and daughter. Looking back at the water, he sees a distorted fin rising from the water.

"Mona! Kids! Get behind me!" Raph tells them, getting in a battle stance.

Jumping out of the shallow water and onto shore, the creature is revealed. A torn and mangled robotic shark appeared, looking practically dead as he towered over the family. He gives the family a menacing grin as Raph and Mona Lisa quickly realize the identity of their opponent.

"ARMAGGON?!" The couple shouted in disbelief.

He lets out a gravely chuckle, "Long time no see, Turtle."

"You're still alive, Fish Breath?" Raph asked in a snarky tone.

The bounty hunter growls, "Shut it, Turtle! Because of you I'm rotting away thanks to that Scorpion beast partly digesting me!" he looked at his robotic body, the part of him that was still flesh was his face. Everything else was all metal, "I lost my arms ripping my way out of that thing!"

Raph snickers, grossing his arms with a cocky smirk, "Well, in that case I guess we should now call you 'Arms-Are-Gone' !"

Despite the situation at hand, the three small children couldn't help but chuckle at their dad's pun.

Mona Lisa was the only one not assumed by the joke, "Raphael, I love you, but that was in poor taste..."

Armaggon begins to heat up, furious that this disgraceful turtle has the gall to mock him for the suffering he caused! However, his attention went to another familiar face.

"Wait a minute! Is that... the salamandrian female?!" The shark howls as he spots the three cowering children behind her, "You actually managed to get with her AND got busy?! Turtle, you surprise me!"

As Armaggon has a good laugh, he turns his robotic hand into a blade. He gives his targets a menacing smile, "Hope you enjoyed your little vacation because I'm about to rip you all into pieces! Starting with those kids!"

The kids scream in terror, seeing the cyborg shark start charging towards them. In a flash, Mona picks them up and runs towards the ship while Raph takes on Armaggon. Using his bare hands Raph stops his opponent in his tracks. Grabbing the shark's wrist, Raph with all his strength attempted to push Armaggon back but the robotic shark just laughed as he easily overpowered the red turtle.

At the ship, Mona Lisa takes the kids inside, placing them down then proceeds to search the ship. Her children watch her as she takes out their father's sais and her plasma sword that she secretly stored away "just in case of emergencies". Looks like her gut feeling was right, to Mona's dismay.

"Stay here," She tells the children sternly, making her way back to the ship's exit, "Irrilia, I need you to keep your brothers safe, use the ship to get out of here if you can. Thalos, call your Grandfather, send a distress signal. I'll be back soon."

"W-What?!" Irrilia panics, "Mom, where are you going?!"

With a push of a button, Mona's sword reveals itself, its luminous blue laser-like blade glowing, "I'm going to help your father."

"Mom! Wait!" Thalos cries as his Mom runs into battle.

"Thalos!" Irrilia shouts at her brother as she rushes to the control panel and starts pushing every button in sight, "Help me pilot this stupid thing!"

"You figure it out!" the boy snaps, "Where's the communicator?!"

As the two oldest Hamato children tried to call for help and figure out how to fly the Salamandrian ship, the youngest, Sal, was still by the entrance of the ship, peeking his head out to watch the battle go on.

Mona Lisa dashes into the battle to assist her husband, who was struggling to push back on Aramggon's robotic hand trying to crush him to the ground. With a jump in the air, Mona kicks the robotic shark in the face, freeing her husband from his grasp as she tosses him his sais.

"So cool..." Sal says to himself in amazement as he watches his parents fight the robotic shark.

"Agh! Why you little bitch!"

Armaggon goes for a forceful punch, clashing the bounty hunter's robotic arm with Mona's blade, he was too strong, she was not going to be able to hold him back for long. Armaggon laughs at Mona and her attempt at an attack, only leaving a minor scratch on him as he takes his other hand, swiftly grabbing Mona and throwing her down to the ground

"AHH!" Mona cries out in pain.

"Mona!!" Raph screams. Charging in, he attacks Armaggon with his sais, giving his wife time to get back up on her feet, "Don't you dare touch my wife!!"

The children look on, scared and worried for their parents. Though their parents seem to still be able to hold their own in this fight, the kids fear this will be one they will not win.

"Irrilia! We need to do something!" Thalos shouts at his sister desperately.

"I'm trying! These mechanics are just hard to contro- WOAH!"

Irrilia doesn't know what she did but with a sudden press of one of the buttons, the ship began to hover off the ground. The ship shook as it tried to float off the ground, turning and tilting as Irrilia slammed her hands on the control panel. Mid air, the ship jerks from the sudden slam on the controls from Irrilia. The turbulence causes the youngest son, Sal, to start to lose his balance as he remanded close to the still opened entrance.

"SAL!!" Irrilia and Thalos scream.

Before the siblings could react and grab their brother, Sal falls out of the ship. His older siblings cry out for him as he falls to the ground. Luckily he was unharmed, the fall wasn't too long, but unfortunately the young hybrid found himself in the middle of a newly created battlefield.

"Ahh..." Armaggon's menacing grin grows as he spots his new target, "Fresh meat!"

"Ma-mama! P-pa-papa!" The little boy trembles in fear.

Raph and Mona Lisa's eyes widen, fear and anger rush through them both as they charge at Armaggon.

"Leave my son alone, you bastard!" Raph yells with fury.

Despite being critically damaged and injured, with all their might Raphael and Mona Lisa grabbed the bounty hunter shark by both of his arms, holding him back in a lock. With the last of their strength, they held him back from going after their youngest child.

"I will not let you harm my son!" Mona growls.

Suddenly a sinister snicker came from Armaggon, "A mother will do anything to protect her children. Even if it means losing her life!!"

Breaking loose from the couple's lock, Armaggon swings his tail, smacking Raph away as he goes in for the attack. With the strong force of his mechanical arm, Armaggon punches Mona Lisa in the gut, causing her to fall to the ground in agonizing pain. Blood coughed up from her mouth as the kids cried out from the sight of their mother down.

"MOM!!"

"MONA!!"

Sal froze from the sight of his parents, both badly mutilated from the fight. His father struggled to get up and continue to fight with his already injured body. Armaggon's laugh echoed through the whole planet as he slowly began to approach the young turtle salamander hybrid.

"No! Sal! Run!" Raph shouts, trying to pick himself up from the ground.

The little boy heard his father's pleas, but he could not move. Frozen in fear from everything he has witnessed. The boy shook and trembled as he started to cry. A darkness overshadowed him. Sal looks up and through his tearful gaze he sees Armaggon, staring down at him with a wicked smile. Slowly his weapon lifts up, aiming at the young boy.

"Say goodbye to your kid turtle!" Armaggon announces proudly.

"NOO!!" Raph screams, getting up from the ground and runs towards his son in an attempt to save him. He pressed his arm close to his plastron, putting pressure on his injury and not wanting his exposed bleeding wound. No injury will stop him from saving his son and stopping his old enemy once and for all.

Before Armaggon could pull the trigger, Mona Lisa, with the last strength she has, gets up and throws herself on top of Armaggon, covering his eyes and pulling his head back. Raph dashes towards his son, but during the commotion, Armaggon pulls the trigger.

BAM!!

Quickly, Raph manages to push his son out of the way, but during the midst of it all, the blast hits the young boy's father. Hitting him right in the face, Raphael falls to the ground. Sal looked on at his father now lying completely still on the floor. His ears run as he hears his mother and siblings cry out in fear and sorrow.

"DAD!!" Irrilia and Thalos screech seeing their father hurt.

"...D-Daddy?..." the little boy trembles.

"RAPHAEL!" Mona screams. Enraged, Mona takes out her sword, stabbing the blade straight into Armaggon's gills.

"ARGGHH!!" Armaggon howls out in pain, trying his best to pull out Mona's blade that was inserted deep into his gills. Gasping for air and choking on his own blood, the bounty hunter falls to the ground, dead in seconds from Mona's final blow. However Mona Lisa has no time to triumph over her victory, the horror is not over.

Quickly she runs to her husband, carefully lifting him up to rest in her arms as she starts to apply pressure onto his injury to stop the blood from flowing out. He was still alive but losing consciousness.

During the midst of the action, Irrilia and Thalos were able to land the Salamandrian ship, not well, but enough for the kids to get off the ship safely. The two children run over to join their mother and little brother, to check on their injured father.

Raphael could not open his eyes, he couldn't see nor move, but he heard his wife and children crying for him. His son, Sal, apologized over and over again as Irrilia and Thalos asked their mother through their tears if their dad will be alright.

As he heard his family's cries, Raph felt Mona Lisa gently caress his cheek. He could hear that Mona's voice was shaking but trying her best to stay strong for her kids as she told her husband softly, "Please hang on, my love. Don't leave me so soon..."

A promise Raphael will do his best to keep as he loses consequences in his wife's arms, the echoes of his children crying for their father slowly fade.

To Be Continued...
