{A/N:
LucyBoal and FandomFox29 Here's the chapter to answer all your questions. 😁 Or I'm hoping it will anyways. }
Approved Part 9:
"She doesn't like you too?" Cora asked, more confused. And still no one would supply her with answers. At least not full ones.
"Aye," Soracha spat, putting down her pipe and motioning for Nara to sit down on the cot. "She doesn't like that I stopped her not too long ago an' we've had a feud ever since."
"Over what?" She questioned, getting Nara to sit down.
"Your husband." The doctor replied, checking Nara over for any scratches or wounds. "An' a whole lot of things. Like turning us in for one." She muttered.
"She turned everyone, in?" Cora questioned in disbelief. Brushing back her hair. "Everyone?"
"Aye, " Soracha muttered, cleaning a scrap on Nara's cheek. "Almost did anyways, we managed to escape after the Navy tried to board. We still had to fight them of course, but we made it out."
"Why would she do that?" Coralie asked, still stunned by the whole ordeal.
"Jealousy." She answered, moving to work on Nara's arm. "Should've used my knives the first time she walked on board an' tried to pull that stunt between Roxanne and Teague." She shook her head, irritation in her eyes and Cora could tell that it was a dangerous subject to tread upon. So she didn't dare ask more. Instead, only gave a silent nod.
"How's Nara?" Cora asked, switching subjects.
"Fine." Soracha told her. "Few scraps an' bruises that'll heal. An' the limp will go away over time. Make sure she gets plenty to eat an' drink though. She's dehydrated."
"Thank you." Cora replied quietly, helping Nara down. "Do you want tea or anythin'?" She asked. "We're headed to the galley ."
"Naw, But thanks, I'm gonna smoke." Soracha answered with a shake of her head.
"Alright." Cora said, holding her daughter's hand as they went out the door. And down to the galley to get a bite to eat.
She put a kettle on the oven to boil, then rummaged the cupboards for something to make. Finding a loaf of bread and some dried meat. Slicing it and giving it to Nara who quickly devoured it.
Cora then sat down herself, fiddling with her hands in her lap anxiously. The day went from troubled to joy. And back to being troubled again.
Was the voyage home going to be worse now that Sadhbh was aboard? She made everyone tense and on edge. Not to mention angry and upset.
And there was nothing Cora could do about it. Without getting into a fight....
Which was the opposite of what she wanted. The very opposite.
But she knew the woman would probably cause it all the same anyhow.
And all she could do was sit back and watch... Or pray and hope that Sadhbh would leave before anything serious happened.
Or that she would be strong enough when it did.
Because she didn't want to lose anyone else...
No more people dear and close to her needed to be lost or taken away. Especially over an old lover's feud .
