black lives matter?

A few days ago, I wrote a long rant about Alton Sterling and the struggles of black people in the USA. A day later, Philando Castile was killed. I have written paragraphs expressing my rage at the different murders of different black men and women. I have had petty arguments with people who derailed the blacklivesmatter movement.

Now, I just feel tired because over a hundred of us have been killed since 2015 till now for unjust reasons.

I have begun to realise that there is a need for us to have prepared templates of posters, speeches, eulogies, rants, etc because we talk about the death of one black person but forget that tomorrow, there will be another death since the American system has no respect for the black community as a whole.

There is so much awareness being raised yet virtually close to nothing is being improved.

In America, we are being killed by those who were meant to protect us.

And I don't hold anything against police officers because generally, they do work hard in order to keep us safe but with recent events... Maybe this is a sign that there really need to be more thorough background checks on police officers.

Unknowingly, it's like we've created some systematic programme for ourselves.

Black lives are being wasted carelessly and we rant about this, we angrily tweet, we go out to protest, we try to calmly explain to those who don't understand. Every time that a life is lost, it becomes less and less shocking when in reality police brutality should be a HUGE deal.

We all want change.

And we want it now.

I don't want any more hashtags trending; I don't want celebrities tweeting about it when in reality they do nothing; I don't want to see anymore "deep" posters for marches; and I don't want to hear of anymore police officers going scot free after killing a black person unjustly but because black lives apparently don't matter they get away with it.

Literally, everything is so sickening.

RIP

Alton Sterling
Philando Castile
Mike Brown
Kimani Gray
Kenneth Chamberlain
Freddie Gray
Tamir Rice
Aiyana Stanley
Trayvon Martin
Sandra Bland
Kathryn Johnston
Sean Bell
Eric Garner
Rekia Boyd
Amadou Diallo

And the many many others who aren't included in this list because they didn't get the media coverage that they deserved.
