Okay most of you were probably expecting this rant from me.

WHAT ABOUT THE 15000 TRANS PEOPLE ALREADY IN THE MILITARY

I read something that said trans people in the military would not be kicked out immediately, but if this law passes then they will all be let go. (The New York Times) Why would we do that?! I get it, it will cost money. I just calculated it and the most we'd spend on that (please correct me if I'm wrong) would be $750 million. $598 billion total was spent in 2015 (the most recent number I could find). Meaning the transgender medical costs would be about 0.13%, which really isn't that much. It's not even one percent. That still leaves plenty of room to keep our military running.

So why are we doing this? Why are we keeping these people from serving the country? They're trying to help protect our rights and we should be trying to protect theirs as well, but instead we (by "we" I mean trump and his "generals and military experts") decided that it's a good idea to keep these people from a good, discrimination-free (or at least, they could be open about their gender without being fired.) occupation.

What about the trans kids that don't have enough money to go to college? The military said they'd pay for that. I know a trans person in my real life who is a few grades ahead of me, and he's in high school right now. He's been planning to go to the military for a really long time. He probably has a back up plan, but it would probably require him going to college and he doesn't have enough money for that. That was why he was planning on going to the military!
