Chapter IV: Roleplay Related Ranting
Instead of a single, long rant, this will be a compilation of short rants.
So uh... Yeah, have fun.
I. Roleplaying YouTubers
I just... I just don't get it.
Why? Why do people do this?
What is so interesting in a random YouTube celebrity that warrants the need to roleplay as them? What kind of stories could you ever forge based on them? Out of all possible character concepts you could ever choose from, having access to endless possibilities, limited only by your own imagination, why oh why would you choose a YouTuber?
...And who the golden fuck is Aphmau?
II. Creepypasta Roleplays
By name alone, I would think this is a fairly nice idea. Of course, I then remembered people here forgot what a true Creepypasta is.
Let me tell you. It has nothing to do with shipping. It has nothing to do with Creepypasta characters wanting to have a relationship with yours.
And on that topic... Come the fuck on.
You have the power to come up with a decent, even good Creepypasta character concept, maybe some horrible creature, a mysterious entity, or maybe some inanimate object, possessed by a malign force. But noooo, you just HAVE to make a shitty Creepypasta OC by copying an already existing character (See Jeff the Killer -which sucks- and his multiple unoriginal clones), just so you can ship them.
You disgust me.
III. Lazy Scenarios
This is fairly common in Smut RP books, but the problem is not exclusive to them.
So, in these individual RPs, they give you a character you can interact with, stating their name, age, gender, personality, looks, etc etc, usually with a pic of the character. All nice and dandy.
There are times some people will accompany each category (Name, age, gender, etc) with a quote from the character themselves, as if we were asking them to fill a form about them. While this is a neat idea in general, it often turns a bit annoying.
But that's not what gets on my nerves. No no no, you know what gets on my nerves?
When people give you only a picture of the character, sometimes a little line of dialogue... And that's it.
So what can you do? How would you know what character to use? What sort of scenario would be fitting?
You're left to figure that out on your own, because someone just couldn't bother to add just a bit more information.
These are often the same people who put "Title" in their book descriptions, so again, I guess it shouldn't surprise me.
