Due to lack of interest, tomorrow is cancelled
Okay, so about a week ago I decided to stay up all night, partly because I was still awake at 2 in the morning despite numerous attempts to fall asleep. So as the night went by, you can imagine how sleep deprivation was affecting me. At some point — it must have been around 5 am — I decided to listen to some bands I listened to when I was younger to see if they actually make good music or if I just had had a really bad taste during that time.
Now, during the early years of my life I mainly listened to Peruvian music. And I don't mean pop singers from Peru. No, I mean proper Peruvian music with the pan flute that was sung in Quechua and not Spanish. It was all, really, that my dad listened to, and therefore all I listened to. (As I'm sure you have deduced by now, my dad is from Peru.) Then when I started school, I started liking Daft Punk. I was five. After that, my taste got really weird. Between ages 8 and 12, I liked various musicians with very different styles. I liked Beyoncé a lot, and then I really got into Taylor Swift (that one lasted for a very long time and she still has a special place in my heart). Pop music in general. I was a big Ed Sheeran fan as soon as I heard Lego House for the first time. But I also liked Linkin Park, which you would assume is quite unusual for someone that age, but actually a lot of the girls in my class listened to their music for a while. And I loved this band called Kaiser Chiefs.
Now, before we get started on the music I liked when I was 12 (it was a dark phase and I deeply regret it and try not to think of it), we should probably get back to the main point of this. (Also, don't worry, I now listen to really awesome music.) Okay, so back to last week, 5 am: I had found this song called Ruby. And it was so familiar, and I really liked it a lot. The band who sang that song was, believe it or not, Kaiser Chiefs. Now apparently they had a big come back in 2014 and I just missed all that because I was in Germany and well, I think that really explains everything. Anyway, I listened to more of their songs, and it turns out I still knew some words to their songs. And I really, really like their music. So now I've got another band I love, and I intend to share their awesomeness with the rest of the world that doesn't know them! (That is, presumably, most of you guys since they are a British band and a lot of people on here are American or Canadian (that I know of), so they probably didn't have massive hits over there.) Some songs you might want to listen to are Ruby (this is the one song you might recognise (and also the song I quoted in the title of this part)), Everyday I Love You Less And Less, Misery Company, My Kind of Guy, Oh My God, The Angry Mob, Na Na Na Na Naa (a very accurate song title, I have to say) and You Can Have It All.
Okay, now, sorry for taking up so much of your time, I got a little carried away there. Anyway, I'll leave you to do whatever it is you were doing before now x)
