Religious persecution- the systematic mistreatment of an individual or group of individuals as a response to their religious beliefs or affiliations or lack thereof.

I'm a huge history nerd, so naturally I've come across religious persecution when reading about certain eras in history. I'm sure when you think of religious persecution, things like the Holocaust come to mind, and while we look on those events in history with pain and sometimes horror, some people don't realise that religious persecution or religious discrimination is still going on today.

This is another thing in life which I've never understood, why can't someone practice their religious in peace? Why must they be discriminated or persecuted for it? How does it affect anyone's life except their own? Whatever you choose to believe in really isn't my issue, and I have no problem if we have different religious views.

Persecution of religious groups may seem like a outdated idea, yet it's still happening today. Christians are being persecuted in areas of Asia such as North Korea and Pakistan, and it's estimated that 215 million are being subjected to persecution for their beliefs. And that is just one example from one religious group, it's happened all around.

Everyone should have the right to believe in what they believe in, it shouldn't matter whether you believe in Christ, or Allah, or Brahman, or Elohim or any other god or nothing at all!
