03 : local films

Some fellow filipinos, like me, mostly don't like local films and series, probably because of their poor production and cinematography, cliche plots, unnecessary execution of characters, and bad acting.

I get it. That's why I'm picky, and blurts out plenty of criticisms, when it comes to watching p-dramas. Though, I do like some of them, actually. There are certain series and movies that were surprisingly well-produced.

Recently, I got obsessed with this drama series called Mano po legacy: the family fortune, it's a filipino-chinese anthology that circulates around a family of business men and women who faught over a fortune that was left by a former business tycoon who suddenly died. Now, filipino series and films' concepts were always about family and melodrama. People may find the concept a bit cliche, but this one's truly worth a shot. The suspense, thrill, and drama is exceptional in filipino film industry! I'm even waiting for another season, if there is.

But the sad thing about it was that, it's underrated. My friends doesn't watch local series, either, so I'm here, all alone with my feelings.

Speaking of which, local pinoy films were also worth watching, too. I'm honestly craving for filipino cinematography in Manila Film Fest movies, because they give off a nostalgic vibe. Indie films were also good, and I just hope they could create more well-produced movies and series, so that people would actually consider liking local films.

I can't blame them for disliking p-dramas, 'cause most of them were in fact cringey and overused. It's like they're just making a film or a series because the celebrities who was part of the casting were famous, and citizens love them, and not because of the plot.

Somehow, it's kind of upsetting.
