My sister said something really recently that's really put me off and I'm not sure why exactly.

My dad called asking if my sister could play a couple of my games that I wasn't playing, and one of them was Style Savvy Trendsetters.

Now, I LOVE that game.  You basically end up owning a little dying fashion shop and explode it (figuratively) into a world-famous fashion shop.

Something most people would never expect of me---I LOVE fashion.

Yeah.  I said that.  I really love fashion.

BUT

I don't care to look fashionable myself, which is why when I tell people I'm very good with fashion, they usually laugh or say I'm lying.  Just look at SST, though.

"But it's a video game, it's different from real life---"  SHUSH NOT REALLY

The difference is that in SST, I obviously have a MUCH wider variety of clothes and accessories to choose from than I have access to in real life.

I can make some hecking good outfits if you give me a room full of clothes and tell me to make outfits.

Anyway, I didn't want my sister playing SST because it only has 1 save file and she'd have to delete mine to do it herself, which I did NOT want.

But then...she said, "I dunno why Becca has that game, I have a much better fashion sense than she does."

Dad told her off for being rude, but for some reason, I can't just...forget it.

I semi-jokingly replied, "I resent that statement.  I have a good fashion sense, I just don't care to fashion myself."

But it just...put me off.

Now, I'm not put off because she said she thought she had a better fashion sense than me.

Her thing is...if she has a better something than you, you don't have it at all.  So basically I had no fashion sense.

I mean...did she not see me for all the homecoming dressup weeks and senior week?  I dressed pretty dang well for those....

Normally I just get mad for a bit when she insults me then I forget about it not too long after, but this just keeps following me.

I don't get why.  But I really resent that statement....

I do have a fashion sense....  Even when I played through SST the very first time and had no real idea of what to do, when it came to the fashion contests, I was nearly always first.  A couple of times I accidentally dressed for the wrong category or was second because I was missing that "special something" that completes an outfit.  But otherwise, it was pretty clear that I had a very good fashion sense.  Even in the elite and worldwide fashion contests (still all singleplayer, so no competing with other real people), I came mostly in first or second.

I really don't get why I'm so put off by what she said.  I shouldn't care, duh, I know, but y'all know me.  I can't help BUT care....

I didn't care about standing out in the fashion world or drawing attention to myself when I was already being bullied for other things.  I didn't need a whole other section of bullying about "Oh, lol, Becca thinks she has a fashion sense, but blah blah rudeness."

*sigh*

This is frustrating.
