So, I have noticed recently that there are a lot of bacon themed products and it seems that a lot of people out in the universe really, really like bacon. I mean, I understand that it's a well-liked food but what I really don't understand is why people feel the need to sell bacon themed jewelry, t-shirts, etc. I became vegetarian (I don't eat meat) probably about a year ago and honestly, I don't remember bacon being anything special; I liked it but I didn't love it. Pretty recently (I think) there has apparently become some kind of trend of bacon-themed products and I really don't understand it. I mean, who is really going to wear a necklace with bacon on it? Do you love bacon that much? Not to mention the fact that the "bacon" on necklaces I've seen, for example, does not look like bacon! I saw a "best friends necklace" (you know, the ones where there's matching necklaces and you give one to your friend and keep the other) that was, guess what, bacon themed! Let me just say, there are so many things wrong with this necklace. First being, that is not what bacon looks like! Bacon is very squiggly and a sort of reddish brown color, not perfect stripes of bright red, orange, and white. Then, may I bring your attention to the googly eyes. Let me just remind you, bacon is a food. You don't just decide to go sticking googly eyes that wiggle around on food! Although, I have seen other foods with eyes on them, googly eyes and bacon really just don't go together, okay? Now, I remember actually wearing a best friends necklace that I got for myself and my best friend (duh) when I was in, probably third grade or so. Back then I thought it was cute and we were really close so it fit but my opinion has since changed on those things. I have come to realize that best friend necklaces are first of all pointless, and secondly they are usually kinda tacky or weird. I mean strips of bacon, really?? The last and largest reason I have a problem with this necklace is that the bacon strips have mustaches!!! I could go on and on saying the same things about mustaches as I am bacon but I honestly don't feel like it. I just do not understand why someone felt the need to put a mustache on bacon. If any of you have a reasonable explanation please tell me because I just plain do not understand. And that is just this necklace in particular! I could go on and on about weird fashion trends (and I probably will later on) but for now, I'm done with talking about the mystical bacon so this concludes the first rant of Rant Log!
