You know what pisses me off? Bland readers in harem stories. They are always this perfect, muscular, sexy, kind, loving, smart, big dicked, strong adonis and frankly I'm sick of it. Listen people, nobody is perfect, okay except Bob Ross and Morgan Freeman, but aside from those two, nobody is perfect. The reader characters in these books are half of the time these perfect human beings and EVERY. SINGLE. GIRL. IS. ON. HIS. DICK!!! Then there's the one who's bland in the complete opposite way, the scrawny no-life who is so boring that you fall asleep after every line. These types are the ones you see in Harem Anime, and the adonis types are the ones you see on things like Wattpad and Archiveofourown.

Honestly, if you're going to make a harem x reader, give the reader a small harem. Like, three or four girls is fine, maybe five but that's the limit. Not every girl is going to want to go out with you, no matter how perfect you are. Secondly, GIVE THE READER SOME FUCKING FLAWS!!! Make him, for example, shy, impulsive, irritable, easily stressed, depressed and/or easily distracted. These are just a few examples of some flaws you can give the reader. And if the reader is super boring, give him some positive traits, like being selfless, smart, kind, willing to help etc. Next, you're going to want to give a VALID REASON to make the girls in the harem fall for him. So not "OH MY GAWD HE'S SO HAWT I WANT TO GIVE HIM THE SUCC!!!" No. Just. No. For one girl, you can go for the classic childhood friend, and for the others, maybe the reader is super helpful to them, or has helped them out with something they were struggling with in the past like depression, or making them feel wanted because they're being discriminated or saving them from an abusive family. Give them a valid reason. Lastly, don't make every girl super fucking horny for the reader unless their traits match that. They are not going to want your dick or park their face on your abs 24/7. Make them SOMETIMES make a comment about how hot the reader is but only sometimes. That's realistic. Not every girl is going to be ultra horny. Make them say stuff about how nice he is or something.
