Zravasaya sighed scribbling on the papyrus scroll he was working on a court issue which had him occupied since he came back. The meeting room was vacant with pleasant smell of incense sticks hitting his nostrils, the light from one of magnificent later falling on the desk as he worked.

"Your majesty, The queen wants to inform you that she will be sleeping with prince Divith and princess Divya tonight. The prince is sick and is not letting her go" Zravsaya nodded at the attendee with a wave.

He worked on the scrolls and other matters. The night seemed to be passing faster than he anticipated. It was in his favor though he needed Tanirika beside him to sleep peacefully. He sighed rubbing his palms on his face, his eyes weighed as sleep heaved in them. He was so tired. He had continous meetings the day with the courtiers, king Vallak and the king of Persia. He got no time for himself. Too much for going on a vacation and then coming with heavy workload.

A silhouette slowly moved behind him as he indulged in his work. Saya stood out of the room near one of the little windows as she tried gaining one look of her son. Palasha had told her that they would meet him Tomorrow. But Saya had denied it. She carried very little courage to face her son.

What if he Blamed her for not taking him away with her? What if he was not like the one she anticipated him to be?

Saya had insecurities and she didn't want them to overrule over her. But the mother in her could not hold herself back. She just wanted one look of her son to calm her heart down. 26 years have passed since she had looked at him. She had only picked him for few minutes after he was born. After that her broken destiny had cruelly taken her son away from her. She wiped her tears clutching the wall tightly as she admired her son working.

He looked like a king. His messy hair, broad shoulders, honey brown eyes and those facial features which were too much like her made her laugh. He looked exactly like her. He had inherited her eyes. Saya sighed as she stood near the window for hours just looking at him. She tried building the courage to enter the room and announce that he was her son. But she couldn't muster it. She was too much of a coward.

Saya saw Zravasaya winding up his work and moving out of the room. The passage was dead silent the only sound could be heard was night insects bickering around. Saya restrained herself back but then again followed zravasaya maybe she was trying to fulfill the void of years.

Zravasaya met Princess Divya out of her chambers, she smiled bowing at the king.

"I heard prince Divith was sick" he asked her. Divya nodded slightly informing him about the health of the little prince.

"They both are sleeping inside. " Zravasaya nodded entering the room where his wife and nephew slept. He brushed her knuckles on tanirika's cheek as she sighed softly in her sleep, a smile forming on her beautiful face, she pulled divith closer to herself making Zravsaya smile at them. He placed a kiss on his wife's forehead and then at divith feeling the hot burn on his lips. He checked the temperature of the little prince.

Divya smiled standing at a distance looking at the interaction between Zravasaya and Divith.

"His body is still hot. Take care of him" he stated looking at princess divya who nodded sadly dipping a fresh cotton cloth in the bowl and placing it on her son's forehead.

Saya moved away when Zravasaya entered a chambers. She could see him talking to another woman as he gazed at the bed frequently. She sighed moving few strands of her behind walking away from her son.

Saya was lost in her thoughts her veil resting on her forehead she gazed at the moon standing in its glory in the sky. With closed eyes joined hands she thanked the gods for making her witness this day. This wonderful day where she could get a glimpse of her son. She was grateful for it.

"Saya," A shocked feminine voice rang in her ears making her jerk back in terror. Saya's eyes fell on the woman who was dressed in a royal attire, her eyes after all these years still held wickedness. Her eyes widened in realisation, she immediately pulled her veil down running away from the woman who appeared stunned looking at Saya.

"You rose from dead" Lady manika seethed grabbing Saya by her arm, she slammed her on the nearest wall. Saya groaned in pain as her back made contact with the wall. Lady manika couldn't believe her eyes, This woman was not supposed to be alive.

Saya pushed Lady manika away adjusting her veil she turned around. Manika could feel her anger erupt, she was again about to clutch Saya in her hands when the sound of footsteps rang in her ears. She gulped moving away from Saya adjusting herself she plastered a smile totally ignoring everything she had just witnessed.

"Lady Manika" Zravasaya stood at the other end of the passage, his shoulders straight, hands clasped behind his back as his shawl slipped on the floor with each step he took. Manika shivered feeling his dark gaze on her. She gave a quick glance to Saya who stood rigid on the corner with her back turned to Zravsaya.

"Your majesty, The gods have blessed me tonight,  I am grateful to witness your charming face " She whispered her voice coated with honey.

Zravasaya chuckled walking towards the two woman, his eyes raked on the other woman who had her back to him, with her simple clothes it seemed she was a maid. Well, he didn't care. His eyes met lady manika' who smiled weirdly not able to hold his glance she immediately lowered her face.

"Your fake concern over me makes me gag. Lady Manika I know you hate me and trust me I do the same. And In a second I could snap your neck, do you know that? Do not try to act smart with me ? Why were you following me?" He seethed in anger his voice harsh as Lady manika cowered back in fear. Saya felt the fear radiating off from her which made her smirk under her veil.

"Your majesty, I Care for you alot. I am grateful that you have spared my life "

"I did not spare your life. I forbid myself from killing a kid and you just got lucky by being the mother of that kid. But make this thing very clear to yourself if you tried to mess with me I will make sure you die the most painful death. " Manika pressed her eyelids tightly as Zravasaya spat his warnings on her. She knew he wasn't making any empty threats. If he wanted he could get rid of her in a minute.

"I am grateful that his majesty showed mercy on me and my son. I will forever be in your debt. " Zravasaya nodded waving her out, she scrambled back like a scared kitten and ran away. Saya took advantage of the situation and followed manika in order to get away from Zravasaya. His eyes never left the retrieving figure of the maid who happened to be more scared than Lady Manika.

Manika turned around once she was out of Zravasaya sight. She looked around to find Saya who got invisible like a wave of wind. She gritted her teeth in anger remembering the very familiar face of Saya. The Same innocent face which was always an obstacle between her son's legacy.

The old king Rametu had no sons Maybe it was God's grace on manika and her husband, the king's younger brother that they had 3 sons. If the king failed to have his heir then according to the rules her eldest son would ascend the throne. But one day there came a prophecy which implied that the little princess of Harishgarh will deliver the next heir of Rakshatra. And her fears came true when Saya became pregnant. Rametu was a very evil man but his evilness was on a leash as Saya's pregnancy started to grow. And as Saya's pregnancy grew Manika's fear grew more. She and her husband conspired against the princess of harishgarh with the King's first queen and framed Saya for infedility. She framed a fake scenario infront of Rametu accusing Saya for infidelity.

She had everything planned Saya and her kids were supposed to die but then one day a man came from other side of the sea and claimed himself as Saya's son and manika lost both of her eldest sons. The only reason her youngest son was alive was Because he was a innocent kid. Now he spent most of his time leading troops on the order of the king of Rakshatra. But Manika she couldn't just sit back she had to revenge her son's and her husband. She hated Zravasaya. She hated his whole family and she could do anything to get rid of them. She had helped king of the jagnya to acquire inside news about Rakshatra but it seemed Zravasaya was invincible he came out winning that war. And when she planned to get rid of the Queen of his, she got saved too.

And now with Saya's presence here, everything around her seemed to choke her to death. She couldn't witness the happiness of the man who had destroyed hers. Tanirika was supposed to be her daughter in law. She was supposed to marry her eldest son but now Manika wanted to get rid of her too. The power tanirika could have given to her son now belonged to Zravasaya.

Palasha jerked off in her place when a frantic Saya entered the chambers. The fear swarming her face made worry crawl down palasha's back.

"My queen, why are you scared? What happened?"

Saya choked grabbing palasha's hands as Manika's eyes snapped infront of her face.

"Palasha-palasha she saw me. She that woman who did all this. Oh my god" Footsteps erupted making both of them still in their places. Saya pulled her veil down hiding herself in the farthest corner of the room behind a pillar. The tears flowing down her face increased its pace when she found Zravasaya entering the room.

Palasha held a worrisome expression as Saya ran away and Zravasaya entered. Palasha composed herself the moment her eyes met Zravasaya.

"Mother, " He bowed walking towards palasha, she spread her arms calling him in for a hug. His tired face curved into a beautiful smile as he hugged his mother. Palasha gulped her tears caressing his head.

"Is everything ok? You are crying " He whispered separating himself away from her mother. He wiped the lone tear falling from her eyes while she shook her head caressing his face in her motherly warmth.

"I apologize for entering your room without any announcement  at this hour. But I cannot find sleep coming to me. " He laid comfortably on palasha's bed adjusting the pillow under his head he smiled cheekily at his mother.

Palasha looked behind where Saya stood before moving towards Zravasaya who was looking at her.

"Where is your wife? This is the first time you remebered your mother after marriage?" She glared at him making him chuckle. Zravasaya placed his head on her lap, his eyes closed he tried feeling the calmness his mother always provided him.

"You have got new scars "

"Yes I got some from the War. They seemed to be healed though. " Palasha nodded smiling at her son who had his eyes closed then at the helpless mother who stood behind a pillar with tears glistening in her eyes.

Palasha tried conversing with her eyes, she tried to call Saya near her. She wanted to end this misery for once and all. But Saya stepped back wiping her tears she could not push herself infront of her son. She was glad that she put him in Palasha' hands. He seemed to love her lot. And that scared her what if he didn't love her. What if he Blamed her.

Kaya was already blaming her. She could not see her son blaming her too. All her life she had endured pain all kind of pain but she didn't want to endure the worst out of them the pain of her son not loving her back. She cupped her face as a loud sob broke out of her. Palasha bit her lip closing her eyes she pushed her tears back. Her eyes were fixed on her friend who was slumped against the pillar defeated.

They both were living in their own world. Worrying about things which could be a possibility in the coming future but none of them were courageous enough to take the first step. After all a parent always looses to their child.

A tear fell unconsciously on Zravasaya as palasha cried silently. That was the only thing holding him back.

Palasha could not understand when Zravsaya jerked up standing right on his two feet. He snapped his eyes towards Palasha who appeared shock looking at him. He smiled turning around and walking towards the same corner where Saya stood.

"Zravasaya" Palasha called but he paid no heed to her. He was determined to reach that corner. Saya jacked up hysterically the moment she felt Zravasaya coming towards her. She turned back moving away when zravasaya caught her wrist.

"I knew you were too suspicious" He whispered pulling her out of the dark. Saya shivered feeling her knees weakened as Zravasaya held her wrist firmly.

"Zravasaya let go for her " Palasha warned her son who glanced back with no emotion.

"Vasaya"

"No, she was following me since I was in the meeting room. Then she followed me to Princess Divya's room. And then she was with Lady Manika. And now here? Too suspicious isn't it?" He mocked her eyes never leaving the timid woman who stood facing her back to him.

"She means no harm to anyone. I trust her "

"I don't. Remove your veil. Show yourself to me" He ordered.

"You cannot force her. I forbid you to do that.  " Palasha warned Zravasaya, breaking Saya' hand away from him. She stood infront of Saya glaring at Zravasaya who looked confused. He was confused over his mother's behavior.

"Its ok palasha. I will do whatever he Says. " Saya whispered placing her hand on palasha' shoulders. She moved ahead of palasha, standing infront of her son.

She took a breathe of air before moving her veil on her head. Zravasaya stood frozen in his place when his honey brown eyes met the other pair of honey brown eyes.

Saya smiled at her son who stood too shocked looking at her. Finally she had gathered the courage to meet her son and whatever the consequences would be she won't care. She would accept them as one more phase of her life.

Zravasaya could not break the eye contact with the woman standing infront of him. He was too stunned to speak.

"Zravasaya, meet your mother. The one who birthed you. Her majesty,  Queen Saya" Palasha softly patted his arm smiling at him as she gazed at Saya who smiled nervously at her son.

"Maasa" He whispered his voice cracked as the woman broke down in loud sobs taking him in her arms. Well,  she tried to hold him in her arms but he was now bigger compared to her small frame. Zravasaya felt tears falling from his eyes feeling every story, every dream palasha had recited to him suddenly felt real. His hands automatically wrapped around his mother who sobbed hysterically in his arms. His arms tightened around her as they both cried that night after meeting each other after 26 years.

Kaya who was sleeping in another room got up due to loud wailing sounds coming from the main room. She removed the comforter, putting her feet down on the floor she walked in the main chambers. Kaya gasped taking in the scene infront of her.

Her mother was finally blessed by the gods she finally had her son in her arms. And that moment kaya felt all her anger getting disappear which she felt on her mother. She looked at a helpless woman who was craving to have one touch, one moment to feel her offspring near her.

She saw how saya cried in her sons arms. She saw how her brother who was a man broke in tears without any  care of the world. The unconditional, unwavering feeling of a mother's love could be felt from miles.

Kaya didn't know when her own eyes became moist. Palasha walked towards the princess holding her by her shoulders. Kaya stood rooted in her place looking at her family.
