The one thing I have learned is all writers need support. It isn't a want, it is a need. When you don't have any support you feel like quitting and giving up. You feel like why keep writing if nobody would read it? I get that people say to write because you like it, that is true. But that doesn't mean you can be upset or disappointed because of it. It is basic human nature and it is a right everyone has. Telling someone just to write for them in response to them saying that no one is going to read it support them is a bit insensitive due to the fact writers do not want to hear that. Writers make content that they love and want people to enjoy it just as much as they do. Believe me, I know that more than anyone else. Support doesn't mean shoutouts, votes or comments - yes those would be nice and most the time all writers wish for that - what it really means is someone giving you sweet words, whether or not their story is your type, even the smallest compliment can go a long way.
