Snippets of She-ra angst I'll never finish
Because I truly never will.
. . .
Bow felt himself curling in on himself, arms tightly wrapped around his stomach, the ache of the scar growing in pain by the second. Too much, it had hurt too much and it still did, it was horrible, and his own dad's had to witness one of these pain days, this wasn't good.
Bow could already tell his dads were by his side no matter how much pain he was in, he could hear their distant voices, asking if he was okay or not and consulting the other if they knew how to help. There was nothing that could help him, not even Adora's healing magic could, he had to live with it forever no matter how much he didn't want to. The pain and the scar would never truly leave, they would stay with him forever.
"Honey, do you know what's wrong with him? You worked in the rebellion before, so you know... Right?" He could tell that was his dad Lance, he was always worried about him. He didn't know much about violence or the scars you could get with being in the Princess Alliance, however, his father, George, did. He didn't remember much after that, only static voices and sounds.
He woke up in the guest's room, his dad's over him, however, something felt off. It wasn't that hard to spot.
Bow knew both of his dads were worried, but something was different with their expressions, Lance looked tear-eyed, regret and sympathy in his eyes while George...
He looked mad- maybe even angry?- but there was guilt hidden behind that anger, however, that anger was directed towards him, or more likely that disappointment.
"Bow," He spoke a stern tone to his voice, poison leaking from it. "when I said we'd let you fight in the rebellion I made you promise to stay safe for us, did I not?" George inquired, Bow started to sit up, a guilty feeling tugging at his heart, he should have told them or just have stayed home until the pain became less frequent, he probably should have. "But Dad, I-"
"No buts! Did you promise that to me or not?" He interrupted, Bow only slowly nodded in response, he had. "Now," George started "I've fought my fair share of battles and seen my fair share of things but this," He pointed towards the scar on Bow's stomach, the burn mark that the Horde's bot had created there, he didn't remember his shirt being rolled up like that before. "seeing this on my own son... My own son who I allowed this to happen to, I- I can't..."
His voice was wavering, he quickly walked away, covering his face with his hand as his other dad, Lance, placed a hand on his shoulder. "It'll be okay honey, I'm sure Bow's learned his lesson now," Lance consulted. Bow could tell he broke his parent's heart's by the sound of their voices.
He didn't mean to...
He hadn't meant for any of it to happen, he hadn't expected the blast to happen or that Adora wouldn't be able to heal it either. It didn't think it was his fault but he had the lingering feeling it was.
