My Story of Finding Wattpad
To start this book off, I'll be telling you all about my incredible journey of finding Wattpad.
Journal Entry - January 13
It was a warm summers day, when I, Dr. Montana Jones, decided to embark on the adventure of a lifetime. It was rumored that a great treasure was hidden in the secret caves of the ancient Aztec warriors of Mexico, a treasure so great that the ancient Aztecs had put a curse on whoever found it. But I did not believe in curses! So I set off to board a plane to Mexico. It was a long, boring flight with nothing to do but read those little safety pamphlets in the seat pocket in front of you that kept giving me these nasty paper cuts. I was relieved when the plane finally set down on the ground once more and I got my first good look of Mexico. It appeared to be a barren wasteland with nothing but airport terminals and desert as far as the eye could see, except for a few small trees. I stepped out of the plane and walked into the airport, carrying my briefcase. It was was filled with all sorts of exploring doodads and was all I carried, except for the clothes on my back of course. You see, as a young child I had always been taught to pack light.
After I had checked into my hotel and rented a car, I decided to get to work. I scanned the web for any trace of what the ancient Aztec treasure might be but, alas, my search yielded no results. It was getting fairly late by then so I decided to head off to bed and to embark on my journey to the actual caves tomorrow morning.
Journal Entry - January 14
I awoke the next morning with excitement. Today would be the day that I find the treasure! I hopped out of my bed and began to pack up my few belongings. Soon I was ready. After a quick breakfast, I went and stood out in front of the hotel and attempted to call for a taxi. I was waving my hands and jumping up and down and probably looked like a madman, but soon a taxi arrived. I told him to drive me to the ancient Aztec caves but he said that he couldn't take me there! Something about protecting a national heritage site! The nerve! A few extra pesos was all it required and soon I was speeding off to my next adventure.
After a long drive in his car, which I will let you know was not air conditioned, we finally arrived at the site. It was wonderful! Even from here I could see beautiful archways, temples, and even some caves, which was what I was looking for most. I immediately set off towards one of the caves that I saw. Written on the entrance in the ancient Aztec language, which I happen to understand, was: Great treasure lies here. That was all I needed! I set off into the cave at once.
It was rather dark in the cave and I was glad that I had brought my flashlight. The cave also smelled disgusting. Every so often I would disturb bats hanging from the ceiling and they would fly off, looking for another place to sleep I presumed. It was then that I came upon my first trap. I saw spikes on the walls to either side of me and in front of me, some sort of pressure pad. I decided stepping on it might not be the best idea, so I stepped back and examined the trap. I assumed that if you stepped on the pad, the spikes would shoot out of the walls and impale you. I decided to test my theory so I picked up a moderately large rock from the cave floor and threw it down onto the pad. Instantly, the spikes shot out of the wall, colliding in mid air, and falling to the floor. Just as I had expected. I continued walking passed the deactivated trap.
After deactivating another spike trap and jumping across a pit full of venomous snakes, I had finally come to the treasure room, but it was not as I expected. The walls were covered in images of war and farming. In the center of the room was an altar, also covered in a strange forgotten Aztec dialect that even I couldn't understand. But the curious thing was what was on the altar. There was a laptop. Just an ordinary laptop. I stepped a bit closer to inspect my discovery. On the screen of the laptop was a website called... Wattpad? I said it aloud. What could this be. I examined it even closer. It appeared to be a site were you could write and publish books about all kinds of things to the entire world! This was perfect! I now had a way to publish all of the ideas that were swirling around in my head! Immediately, I went to work, writing and posting, reading and following. Then I came across a book. It was wonderful! But in the end all was lost. My favorite character died. The bad guy won. It was horrible! It was then that I realized that there in fact was a curse! The curse all fangirls and fanboys alike despair and try to hide from, but it always prevails in the end. It was the curse of the feels.
Hi again guys! As much as I would like to deny it, this story is unfortunately not true (for obvious reasons). My real story is a lot more boring. I was recommended to this site by peanutsfan23 and thought it looked interesting, so decided to join. This story was funny and enjoyable to write though! I hope you enjoy it to!
