Quick One Shot Story (not the game lel)

So, my girlfriend sent me a letter in the mail. I was prettu surprised, considering we talked often and even hung out on many occasions, but I was excited, none the less. I mean, who DOESN'T like mail?

As soon as I took the envelope out of the mailbox, I ran inside and through the other contents onto the counter, making for my bedroom. I passed my mom who asked if there had been anything interesting, to which I replied with: "Busy! Talk later!!" Before slamming more door shut.

I sat heavily on the edge of my bed and took a moment to analyze the handwriting on the front, recognizing my girlfriend's penmanship. I held back a squeal of excitement and started to gently open the sealed envelope, nervously avoiding tearing the paper.

I soon was able to pull out a folded notebook sheet, the lead of a pencil used to write with dark on the other side of the paper. I quickly unfolded it and scanned over the letters, noticing with a tweak of confusion that the words were written backwards.

At the top, she had left a small note that said I had to look in the mirror to read the petter correctly. After a moment of hesitation and questioning her motives, I stood and left my room, locking myself in the bathroom before my mom got the chance to give me a weird look.

I faced the mirror and held up the paper, reading the first paragraph.

It started out as any other would, "how are you?", "I'm doing this", "you should see this", "this is a waste of time and nerves in my wrist, but I thought it would be worth it to do something cheesey for you", the usual.

It wasn't till I had read the whole thing that I had gotten to a heartfelt part. One that made me smile, and still makes me smile at the thought.

She had wrote:

Now, if you're wondering why I wrote this whole damned thing backwards, it was for a very special reason. Look at the reflection in the mirror. You see that woman? Yeah, the one standing there in front of the sink? She resides in the back of my mind, day in, day out. She's in every thought and every memory. She has a place in me that cannot be compared to others.

At that time I had teared up, my heart begging to have her standing with me so I could hug her and tell her how I felt back. Even if she already knows. But since she wasn't, I toughened up and smiled warmly, reading the last sentence or so of the letter.

There's just one... itsy bitsy tiny problem.. I don't like when she stands so close to you.

It was then that I could hear the quiet rasping sound of breathing by my ear, a small tuft of my hair stirred by a hot gust of air that blew gently through it.

I froze in fear, unable to take my eyes away from the form standing behind me, locked on the face hovering by my right shoulder. The paper in my hands crinkled in my grip as I trembled, swallowing down a scream as ice cold finger tips brushed across my skin, my spine simultaneously creeping like the feeling of fear thriugh my brain.

I closed my eyes tightly as the face moved forward, the woman's lips nearly touching my ear as she whispered to me in that hoarse, scratchy voice, the last words my girlfriend wrote before finishing off with "I love you" and her name.

"Surprise motherfucker."

XD I couldn't think of anything clever.
