Okay, so... In case you didn't know, I am in the Color Guard Team for my school.

(And if you don't know what that is, here is a definition I found online :a uniformed group, especially of soldiers, police officers, or school representatives, who parade or present their institution's flag (and sometimes their national flag) on ceremonial occasions.) Anyway, so our homecoming parade is on Saturday and Color Guard is going to be marching in it. Everyone was practicing for it today and I swear this was the practice that has made me smile the most.

So, after taking role and stuff, while the Drill Team was outside practicing, Color Guard was basically a mess. .-. We had to figure out things for the homecoming game and parade. That took a while and then afterwards, we began to work on the flags. All of the first years (basically me and four others) then had to fall in and make a horizontal line. We began to go through all of the commands and soon began to play a game called Knockout.

So, from my understanding of it, the rules are this: you have to do all the commands and try not to mess up. If you mess up, you're out. And something they may add in the game is military bearing (don't ask me what it is exactly. I don't know anything.). This means you can't smile, laugh, or anything. Just stay as stone faced as possible.

 I somehow won...

But I nearly broke several, several times. So, my reward was commanding the first years.

O_O This definitely surprised me since I'm usually the really quiet person in Color Guard. But I handed my commander my flag and went in front of my friends. I was helped with commanding, of course >_<, but it was really fun. Especially since it was me basically ordering my friends to do things and they had to obey. >:3

As I went through the commands, they eventually got to the point where they had their flags looking something like this (excluding the American flag).

That's when my commander had an idea. He had the first years stay in that position as he and another guy sung the national anthem. It was the most beautiful thing I had heard and I smiled so huge when I heard them sing. Then they began to forget the lines. So, my friends continued to suffer with holding the flags while they looked up the national anthem on YouTube and played the entire song over. Soon, everyone that wasn't holding a flag was either watching or dancing in front of everyone to the national anthem. I died from laughter. >_< Then we all went marching but that went okay :P
