Short Story
We watched as the dwarves were being escorted to Thranduil's kingdom. We have been following this group ever since they set out from Rivindell. Lord Elrond wanted to keep safe or something.
I didn't really pay any attention to the instructions. Although his daughter, Princess Dess, did. I'm really surprised that Elrond let her go. She's so young compared to my age. Elrond didn't want us seen so we stayed a fair way away from them. Of course Gandalf knew of us following them.
Snapping from my thoughts I looked over at my friend.
"What do we do?" I whispered.
"Follow them of course," She whispered back.
We shared a look, then nodded. We had this plan for a long time. Well, she planned it and I only made adjustments. When Dess was only an elfling she made a plan to get into places.
Back to the real world!
We jumped from the trees, landing softly on our feet. Running after them we stayed in the shadows. Not wanting to be seen. Looking around we saw that no one was near.
We shifted into our cat forms. Did I mention that we were shifters? Oops.
Dess looked around. Her green eyes going this way and that. She had grey fur with a white chest.
My cat, however, is a kitten. I decided this age of a cat because two female cats walking around is pretty weird. Being a kitten makes it less suspicious.
My kitten form is orange with blue eyes. I was really fluffy. I may be small, but I can turn into a flying ball of fury just like THAT!
Walking forwards, Dess led the way to a secret passage few know about. We dodged elves as much as we could. Once we had made it to the palace, she led the way to the ''passage''.
"Why did I have to be the kitten? I'm older than you Dess!" I complained, while speaking in cat.
You see, we cats understand each other. To any other species we would just be meowing. Dogs and other animals can understand us, but not squids. They're too stupid to understand anything.
"You might be older than me," Dess answered, "but you're not more mature that me."
I rolled my eyes. Well, as best as a cat could. Looking around I saw the "passage" through that castle. When I say ''passage'' I mean, "hole in a wall that leads to the dungeons". But their was one problem. Legolas, the prince of Mirkwood was standing in front of it.
"I have a plan. Go behind that pillar and follow my lead,'' I said to Dess.
She nodded and crept behind the pillar. I padded over to Legolas and mewed. He looked down at me confused, then picked me up.
"Hello there. Now what would a small thing like you be doing out here?" Legolas asked.
I mewed in response. Dess got the idea and walked towards us. Legolas saw her and looked at me. He set me down next to my "mother" and looked at her.
"I have not seen you in a while. You are supposed to be ridding the dungeons if mice. But now I see what you have been up to," He said with a smile.
Dess meowed at him and pawed at his feet. I wasn't paying any attention, as usual. I more interested in her tail. It was swishing near the floor.
My kitten instincts were getting the best of me. I crouched low to the ground and slowly crawled toward it. Finally, I pounced on it! Taking Dess by surprise, I made her jump a little.
Dess spun around to face me. I only mewed to seem innocent. She pawed me on the head as if to say, "Stahp!". I then started to play with her paws.
Legolas, who seemed amused, moved aside so we can get to the dungeons. I stopped playing with her and ran through the tunnel. Dess quickly gaining on me. We slowed to a walk and came to the end of the tunnel.
I cautiously looked around. I had never been in the dungeons before and Dess had. But the dwarves weren't really that hard to find. They made such a racket that I could probably hear them from two miles away.
We followed the noise and found most of the dwarves separated in about 9 cells. Thorin, was the only one missing. I padded over to the nearest one. Trying to get to it, I mostly tripped on the three steps.
Peering inside I saw a brunette dwarf sitting and playing with a stone. I instantly recognised him as Kili. Dess soon came up behind me. She went along the cells making sure that everyone was their. Thorin was still gone and Bilbo was still missing. So that's everyone!
I walked inside Kili's cell, and mewed at him. His gaze instantly snapped to me. Looking at him I saw a shoe untied and the lace laid out. My kitten instincts took over again.
Kili watched me curiously as I crouched to the ground. I pounced on the lace and started playing with it. Kili chucked and picked me up, snapping me from my kitten instincts.
I sat in his hands and stared at him. His brown eyes meeting my blue ones. Just then, a cage opening broke me away from his gaze.
I jumped from his hands and padded over to the cell door. Thorin was shoved into his cell and locked in. Dess was sitting next to me and watching intently. She got up and ran to his cell. Me following right after her.
"Did he offer you a deal?" Balin asked, as we approached Thorin.
"He did. I told him he could go ishkh khakfe andu null. Him and all his kin!" Thorin shouted.
I couldn't help but snigger. Dess shot me a look.
"What? You can't say that wasn't funny," I told her.
"Okay. I admit. That was pretty funny," She said with a hint of a smile

We had been sitting here for a couple hours. No one made a sound besides me, who kept on tackling Dess when she didn't expect it.
"I'll wager the sun is on the rise. Must be nearly dawn," Bofur sighed.
"We're never going to reach the mountain, are we?" Ori asked sadly.
A certain hobbit then decided to make himself known.
"Not stuck in here you're not," Bilbo said, jiggling the keys.
'This is going to be an adventure of a life time!' I told myself.

Wow. Long. Dess and I actually did this in a conversation. But hers will most likely be different. I did change some things in this but meh. YOLO!
There's a picture of me as a kitten on the side. Dess' cat form will be in the next chapter.
