When I'm happy
I expect you to be too
When I get excited
I expect you to follow through

When I'm laughing
I expect you to laugh with me
When I need someone there
I expect you to be

The truth is, you're not
I feel guilty saying so
I hate to watch you cry
So I hide it when I feel low

When I'm happy
You find an excuse
When I'm excited
You make it about you

When I'm laughing
You don't get the punch line
When I need someone there
You won't ever be mine

I said I was tired
Understatement of the year
I feel like a zombie
Feeling nothing but fear

I want you to love me
But I can't ever change
Trust me, I wish I was a girl
And I wish I could be straight

The truth is, I can't be
I can't alter who I am
I'm not a girl which you don't know
I'm not straight either, I'm pan

Love is love
I am who I am
I just wish you understood
So I don't have to pretend
Because I don't think I can
