Science Expermient (A Kyce One-Shot)

A/n:
Before I start this off, I want to clarify something. Kyce is purely a JOKE, and a fun slash ship my friends and I created at school. Vixenfoxine is writing a great story about this ship, but PLEASE don't get offended or feel insulted about this. It's meant as a joke, and I have checked with the people involved to see if they're ok with us shipping them. Please just enjoy this. -Alex

Keegan Donally, the resident shorty of the Eighth Grade, had a little secret. Sure, he would deny and play it off as a bromance situation, but he was bisexual. His friends were suspicious, but he somehow managed to squirm his way out of conversations involving his sexuality. Well, that was about to change.

As Keegan walked down the hall, heading towards the science lab, he noticed a flock of fluffy, wild blonde hair dart past him. Surprised, he turned to find out the cause of this sudden disruption. There, standing only mere inches from him, was a boy with bleached, sandy hair and bright, shining cerulean eyes. A small flush was upon the boy's cheeks, as he panted, out of breath.
"Bryce! What the hell are you doing?" A voice called, and the boy turned.
"I just ran from the other end of the school Brenton, lay off," Bryce retorted, a cocky smile ghosting his face.
At this point, this boy had all of Keegan's attention. He was entranced with the sarcasm and seemingly blissful, humorous ignorance that radiated around this kid. An all too familiar tug plucked at Keegan's heart, and he recognized it as puppy love.
'Get a grip Keegan, you've not even properly talked to the guy yet and you're already falling head-over-heels like a loser.' He scolded himself, trying to shake the feeling off.

The bell decided to take that moment to make its shrill voice heard. Panicking, both Keegan and Bryce ran into the classroom, hastily planting themselves in their seats, trying to pretend like they had been there the entire time.
"Alright, today you're getting new a new seating chart because SOME PEOPLE," the teacher paused, looking pointedly between a group of girls (and one genetic mutant) who had just clamped their mouthes closed, finally giving him their attention. "As I was saying, you're getting a new seating chart because some people can't seem to focus on their work while next to each other."
Keegan groaned. He always got put next to either some real douchebags, or a really chatty kid who didn't know how to shut their damn mouth. He was never put by any of his friends, and he didn't expect to be. That's why it was such a surprise when the teacher called for him to sit by Katelon, Alex.... and Bryce.
Keegan was taken aback, his face blushing in both surprise and embarrassment. He was put next to Bryce?! The guy who he had just developed a- No. Definitely NOT a crush. Not so soon. And of course, by the two people who would try and pair them together all while making snarky comments and sly jokes about the boys. Just his luck.

Students shuffled to their new seats, greeting their fellow peers as they sat. Bryce slid smoothly, well, attempted to slide smoothly, into the seat right next to Keegan. However, his... "graceful" stride caused the chair legs to skid slightly, resulting in him tumbling out of his chair, directly onto Keegan.
"G'off me!" Keegan exclaimed, barely being able to remain in his seat after the sudden weight sliding into his side and lap.
"S-sorry... didn't plan for that to happen... haha," Bryce muttered, looking up at Keegan. His breath caught in his throat. Everything about Keegan, from his black, slightly mussy hair, to his sharp facial structure, to his eyes that sparkles with amusement and.... interest? Was exactly Bryce's type. He didn't realize how long he'd been staring at Keegan, until he felt an awkward little shift from under him.
"Uh, dude? Y'gonna get up?" Keegan asked, forcing out a little chuckle.
'Oh right... still on his lap.' Bryce thought as he scrambles back into his own seat. "I'm so sorry... I kinda zoned out... it happens a lot.."
"I've noticed. You never pay attention in Algebra!" Keegan laughed, and Bryce felt his heart flutter. That laugh. He wanted to hear that laugh over and over. Before his thoughts could wander again, the teacher spoke.
"After that little... incident... I would like to begin class, Mr. Donally and Mr. Willman."
"Sorry sir!" Keegan and Bryce chimed in unison.
"Now, if there will be no more distractions, I would like to assign a project. You'll be split into partners with your table mate. If you don't have one, I suggest you find someone else to work with," the teacher said. He began to drone on about the project. Something about air pressure and chemicals? Bryce didn't know. He was too busy studying Keegan's features. The almost invisible dusting of freckles along his nose and cheeks, the small indent above his eyebrow, his petite button nose, but his gaze was mostly fixed on those dark peach lips. They seemed soft, if a bit chapped, and plump. Bryce couldn't help but wonder what they felt like, if he were to kiss them.
'Whoah there, hormones. Control yourselves.' He chided mentally, dragging his mind back to reality.
".......and so today will be your day for answering questions and research. Good luck students," the teacher concluded, letting the children do their own thing, while being heavily monitored.

Keegan grasped the chrome book resting on the desk, quickly opening it up and logging in. Bryce leaned over, pencil and spare paper in hand.
"Alright, so we gotta answer these and THEN we're allowed to start setting up a rest run," Keegan said cooly, fluidly highlighting and copying down questions onto the paper.
"Yeah... hey! Let me at least do one!" Bryce teased, snatching the paper back from Keegan. Keegan rolled his eyes, but complied, turning the chrome book screen toward the energetic boy sitting across from him. A slight smile tugged at his lips at Bryce's energy, if a little excessive, and couldn't help but have his eyes drift over Bryce's figure. He was slim, not much taller than Keegan. He appeared at least mediocrely built and flexible, but what was really attractive was the slight curve and sharp edge where his hip jutted against flesh. It looked like the perfect place to rest a hand during a gentle kiss...-
"-Gan! Earth to Keegan! Hey, short stack, you there?" Bryce asked, snapping his fingers in Keegan's face.
"Hm..? OH! Yeah... yeah I'm listening," Keegan said, blinking the fantasy away.
"Good, because Ive already finished the questions. We can go up and start working," Bryce chirped happily, already standing up.
"Did you remember a hypothesis?" Keegan asked, a knowing grin on his face. Bryce paled, and checked the sheet of paper.
"Nope.... maybe you should write it.." Bryce murmured, quickly shoving the paper into Keegan's hands. Keegan rolled his eyes, but complied, messily writing in a hypothesis.
"NOW, we're ready," Keegan said, standing up and walking toward the teacher's desk, Bryce close on his heels.

After getting their paper checked and approved for testing, the boys headed to an empty lab table, hastily grabbing the necessary supplies.
"Ready?" Keegan asked, already beginning to assemble their contraption.
"Hell yeah! Let's do this!" Bryce exclaimed, rocking back and forth on his feet in anticipation. Keegan sighed, shaking his head. It amazed him how much energy Bryce could have, despite seeming to be always tired and bored. A faint smile tugged at his lips, watching the excitement and wonder in the other boy's eyes. Keegan grabbed a beaker, filling it with water, as Bryce connected some tubing to the flask, resting the flask on an o-ring. Bryce turned to Keegan.
"Ready, short-stack?"
"Sure, blonde bitch."
Bryce smirked, shaking his head as he tipped over the flask, activating the experiment. That's where everything went wrong.

The next thing Keegan knew, was that there was water soaking through his shirt, and running down his face.
"Bryce! What the hell did you do?!" Keegan exclaimed, glaring at the drenched boy standing across from him.
"I'm sorry.... I don't know what I did. I really don't know.." Bryce whispered, seeming to shrink in on himself. This made Keegan regret his sudden outburst. As he opened his mouth to apologize, the teacher took that moment to storm over, demanding what had happened.
"We don't know.... the flask seems to have... exploded?" Bryce said, holding up shards of glass, finally taking notice to the small cuts on his skin.
"Go get cleaned up... and then head to the office for medical help, and to explain what you've done."
"Yes sir..." the boys chimed in unison.
Trudging down the hall toward the boy's locker room, Keegan turned to Bryce.
"What was with the insecurity?"
"Sorry?"
"When I got angry you seemed to.... shrink."
"Oh, it's nothing."
"Why don't I believe you?"
"Because no one takes me seriously?"
The boys laughed, and Keegan subconsciously wrapped an arm around Bryce's shoulders. Instinctively, Bryce leaned into it, before realizing what was going on. Awkwardly shuffling away, Bryce gave a short cough, and Keegan, face flushed with embarrassment, tucked his arm close to his chest, wrapping his other around it.

The boys arrived at the locker room, and Keegan held the door open for Bryce.
"Such a gentleman," Bryce teased, adding a slight accent to his voice and sashayed through the doorframe.
"Let me get that door for you, your highness," Keegan said, butchering a British accent while opening the second door with a flourish, stiffly bowing.
"Thank you good sir, now, be a dear and carry me to my royal throne," Bryce commanded, holding out his arms in a mock-hug. Keegan saw his chance, and ignored the small voice nagging his mind, telling him not to do this. Not to follow through, in fear of messing everything up. But, he just shoved that aside, and swept Bryce up into his arms, carrying him bridal style over to the lockers. Bryce squealed in surprise, clutching to Keegan like a koala.
"Put me down! I didn't mean it literally! Keegan! Put me down!" Bryce yelled, awed at the shorter boy's strength. Keegan just laughed, and bluntly dropped Bryce down onto the floor, grinning mischievously.
"You ass! I didn't mean drop me on the floor!!" Bryce said, standing up and punching Keegan in the arm.
"Should've been more specific, Bryce!" Keegan chirped, evading another punch. Bryce ignored Keegan's statement, and settled with surprising Keegan by shoving him back, pinning him against the wall.
"Take that, short-stack!" Bryce said triumphantly, smugly grinning at Keegan's surprise.
Meanwhile, Keegan, who was not prepared for this at all, was having a bisexual panic.
'Bryce is right there... his face is RIGHT THERE. What do I do... oh god oh god oh god, GAY THOUGHTS STOP IT!' Keegan's internal conflict left him unaware of what was happening, until a light smack on his cheek forced his mind to return to reality.
"Dude, you ok? You looked like you were about to have a panic attack," Bryce said, stepping out of Keegan's personal space.
"I'm fine.. you just caught me off guard. That's all," Keegan said curtly, turning away from Bryce to hide his burning face.
"Alright man, but we better get changed. Our clothes are still soaked, and I'm sticky with blood," Bryce said, grimacing at his appearance.
"Yeah, whatever," Keegan said, shrugging off his shirt, and folding it out of habit.
Bryce's jaw dropped slightly, gazing at Keegan.
'I knew the guy was skinny and fit, but DAMN.... he looks good.' Bryce muttered quietly to himself, eyes sweeping over Keegan's back and chest. Keegan felt eyes on him, and turned around, to see Bryce hastily pretending to not have been looking. Something about that made Keegan smile, and gain a sudden boost of confidence. He continued to undress, a small smile on his face. Bryce, meanwhile, was having a bisexual (or maybe a pansexual?) panic attack.
'God, why is Keegan so hot?! Why does he make me all giddy? DID I MENTION HOW HOT HE IS?!' Bryce's thoughts were a whirlwind of gay thoughts, and it resulted in him sitting down heavily on the floor.
"Dude! Are you ok?!" Keegan exclaimed, running over and bending down to check on Bryce. Bryce looked up at him, and couldn't help it any longer. Who cares if Keegan doesn't like him? Who cares if they get bullied for this?
Bryce grabbed Keegan's still bare shoulders, and pulled him into a quick, but passionate kiss. Keegan, surprised, didn't kiss back, but pulled away, wonder in his eyes.
"Oh shit, oh shit... dude I'm so sorry about that... I have no idea what happened... I didn't mean-" Bryce's rambling was cut off by Keegan's lips. Bryce, surprised and yes, very relieved, melted into it, resting one hand on the back of Keegan's neck, the other limply falling against Keegan's chest. Keegan's hands curled in Bryce's hair, face burning like the sun. They pulled away, and gazed into each other's eyes for an uncomfortably long time.
"What... the hell... was that?" Bryce whispered, ears bright red, and a large, lovestruck smile stuck on his face.
"I dunno, I just wanted you to stop talking and thinking you did something wrong..." Keegan muttered, rubbing his neck. Bryce leaned closer to Keegan, and gave him another, quick kiss.
"Well.... I really enjoyed that."
"You did?"
"Mmhmm."
"Oh thank god, you have no idea how long I've wanted to do that!" Keegan exclaimed, practically pounding on Bryce in excitement. Bryce simply laughed, and cradled Keegan's hips, gazing up at the short-stack.
"What does this make us..?" Keegan asked timidly, sliding off Bryce's lap.
"I... don't know. I don't know how my parents would take it, but I like you Keegan," Bryce muttered, avoiding Keegan's eyes, like a shy school girl.
Keegan laughed. "Well, I like you too, your highness."
Bryce barked out a laugh, and threw an arm around Keegan's shoulders. "And I, you, my lovely prince."
Keegan seemed to glow at the pet name, and leaned heavily against Bryce.
"We should probably finish getting dressed and return to class.."
"Yeah.... but I don't want to."
"Me either."
"Stay here for the rest of the period and talk?"
"You know me so well."
Keegan looked up at Bryce, and made a decision.
"Bryce, I wanna call you my boyfriend, is that ok?"
Bryce looked at Keegan amused. "Of course it is." He whispered, nuzzling his face in Keegan's hair. Keegan sighed, and reached out to grab Bryce's hand.
"Bryce?"
"Hm?"
"There's gonna be one rule."
"And that is?"
"We don't tell Alex or Katelon about this yet."
"God, I would never dream of it. Those two are insufferable."
"Glad we're on the same page.." Keegan muttered, closing his eyes and resting his head on Bryce's shoulder. Bryce softly pulled Keegan closer, whispering into his hair, "Yeah.. me too, Prince."
Keegan smiled, before drifting off into a light doze, under the careful gaze of his long-time crush, and new boyfriend.
