Traveling by Writing
A poem for your Friday. I was looking around for writing prompts that could be used for a short story, and stumbled across this one. It seemed interesting, so I decided to try writing a poem based on it. For the poetry fans out there, who are curious what form this is written in, the format of this one most closely resembles a sonnet. It doesn't necessarily follow all the rules of a sonnet, though. :)

PROMPT: THE UNNAMED STRANGER CLAIMED TO BE A TRAVELER...
The stranger claimed he was a traveler -
that he'd seen unimaginable worlds.
He spoke of mystery, unusual
locations with distinctive oddities.
He swore he knew real places with clear
rivers of infinite gold, and lakes which
perfectly matched the indigo sky. he
told tales of fearless knights upon shiny
white horses, fighting mythical creatures.
He'd sworn to see zombies, as real as
any horror in a science fiction
film. These fantasies were more than just dreams.
The stranger knew he was a traveler,
for his writing let him see other worlds.
