Reviews: WHy I Don't Give Perfect Scores
This one will be kind of short, though hopefully it's insightful.
~~~~~~~
I have been asked about this in the past, so I decided to comment on it here. The question is a pretty valid one.
Why don't I give perfect scores in my reviews?
If I feel that your book is exceptionally written, then you're likely to get a score in the high nineties. This is an indication that, while the book isn't perfect, there are only minor issues to be found.
So, you might ask...
What do I do if there are no issues to be seen?
I haven't had a book where this happened, but if I do, that story will likely get ninety-nine out of a hundred.
Why?
Because no story is perfect. Even if I don't see any mistakes or issues, there's always room for a story to improve. Maybe I can point out the ways for it to happen, or perhaps you need to take a look at your own work and make a choice. Still, in every case, a book will always have the capacity to grow, even if it is incredibly well-written and has a captivating plot.
