Mild rant, because I have seen this so many times recently and it's really annoying.

Can someone explain what the deal is with changing usernames? I have seen people changing their username only to turn around two weeks later and change it again.

Doesn't this make it hard for their followers to recognize them? I don't get it.

It's cool to change it once or twice over a long span of time, but I don't understand doing this multiple times back-to-back.

Are folks trying to be obscure when they do this? If so, it's working. I see announcements in my notifications from people I'm following, and I have to go search their profile to find a reply where someone tagged them with the old username.

It's stressful.

I don't like unfollowing people, but if I lose track of who they are, it may have to happen.

Why is it so difficult to stick with a permanent username once you find one you like? I mean, that's your online identity, and repeatedly changing it is a quick way for people to lose track of you.
