Green
A twelve-sentence piece from my current writing class. If someone wants to continue it, go ahead and ask me. It turned out better than I expected, so I figured I would post it here.

GREEN
I stand there, in the middle of an empty, unrelenting silence. The sky was a brilliant blue, contrasting with the emerald weeds and unattended graves.
My feet trample the overgrown grass, the sound unnatural in the eerie calm. The gravestones, motionless as sleeping giants, add an overwhelming sense of gloom.
As I walked through the cemetery, eyes cast down and footsteps growing increasingly hesitant, I noticed a lone speck of cheery color on top of a nearby grave.
How unusual, I thought to myself.
Stooping to retie my shoe, I decided to investigate. I wondered whether this had been left by someone, an optimistic soul who wished to bring happiness here. This green was different from that of the wickedly wild-growing weeds. Picking up the sweet, green-and-lavender spring clover, I smiled to myself. How unusual, how beautiful... a wonder among death and chaos.
This cheerful display seems to momentarily shatter the gloom with that infinite, otherworldly hue of green.
