This reminds me of the decade challenge where people were posting photos of themselves in 2010 and current ones from 2019-2020. In 2010, I had braces. I'm very glad I'm not still being subjected to such torture.

I was tagged by Bananabrains13 to complete this challenge. This will probably ramble on for a bit, because I have multiple answers for a couple of these. If you're interested, feel free to take it.

I was 11, turning 12, years old in 2010. Now, I'm 21, turning 22 in a couple months.

What is/was...

Your favorite book?
2010: The Warriors and Seekers books by Erin Hunter. I was obsessed with Warriors up until seventh grade or so, and I used to write these stories where my own cats formed clans like the ones in Warriors. I was writing fanfiction before I knew what fanfiction was. :)
2020: Nightwolf by Willie Davis. This recently replaced To Kill a Mockingbird, which was my reigning favorite novel for five years. Nightwolf isn't super popular, but I recommend you guys read it if you like young adult coming-of-age stories. The author is from Kentucky, which is where the book is set. I actually met the author at a reading on campus, and that's where I was introduced to his work.

Your favorite TV show?
2010: Monsters Inside Me. I'm weird, and for some reason I was obsessed with this show detailing people's experience with contracting different parasites. I also have anxiety, and probably had it back then. So, I would get freaked out and think I had something that was discussed in the show. My parents had to make me quit watching it for a while.

In terms of normal child shows ... I'm not sure. I think I had outgrown my Wonder Pets phase by this point, but I can't really remember what fifth-and-sixth-grade me was watching.
2020: The Umbrella Academy, followed by Grey's Anatomy, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and a show called The Last Ship that aired from like 2014 until a year or two ago. TLS used to be my favorite, but the last season really made me angry. Here's a thought, don't kill off the best characters just because the show's ending and you feel like it.

Your favorite book character?
2010: Someone from Warriors, no doubt. Probably one of the main characters, but I don't remember a lot of the cats' names now.
2020: Atticus and Scout Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird, Wren from Smile_its_Elli's Star of Gryffindor books, and Sylvia Redbird from the House of Night series.

Your favorite TV character?
2010: I have no earthly idea. Might help if I could remember what I was into back then.
2020: Vanya and Ben Hargreeves from The Umbrella Academy, as I see bits of myself in both of them. The first is kind of a controversial choice, especially depending on which (if any) seasons you've seen. I also like Sabrina Spellman fromChilling Adventures of Sabrina, Cristina Yang and Meredith Grey from Grey's Anatomy, and Tony and Ziva from NCIS.

I'm also watching Lock and Key and like a lot of the characters. Not sure which, if any, are favorite material though. It's too early on for me to tell.

For TV/Netflix characters and characters in novels, I tend to gravitate towards those with complex personalities and/or motivations. I'm a psych major; what can I say? I love complex characters. :)

2010: 13
2020: Still 13. It's in my bio on this site, and I don't see it changing anytime soon.

Your favorite activity?
2010: Swinging on my swing set or writing.
2020: Writing or meditation. I also enjoy hanging out with friends. When I was younger, I could take it or leave it when it came to socialization. I don't know if it was an (at the time undiagnosed) autism thing, the fact that I was raised as an only child, or something else. Now, I like people and enjoy time with friends whenever I get the chance to see them.
