3 Years on Wattpad
First off, please pardon any errors for the time being. I just typed this on a phone, which is quite a bit harder than it looks.
So, I know. It's December 14, and my anniversary isn't until the 19, but I'm going to go ahead and do this in case for some reason I'm not around here on my real anniversary.
I remember when I first joined here, back in my sophomore year of high school. Goodness, that seems forever ago. One of my friends, who's not even on here anymore, told me about this sight and I thought hey, why not give writing online a shot? What's the worst thing that could happen?
So, I started writing a Hunger Games fanfic here because, back then, I was obsessed. It got some reads, but after several months I decided I wasn't really that invested anymore. I loved reading fanfics, and still do, but I'm awful at writing them.
So, I took a break from posting here to work on one of my original series.
Months later, I posted the first few chapters of the first book in my 2050 trilogy. Those few chapters were taken down and reposted more times than I can count until, almost a year and a half after I first published them, those chapters were followed by the rest of the book, then the sequel. Those two books are, aside from my high school diploma, the things I'm most proud of in life.
It's insane to think that something I wrote could be read by eight thousand people, and enjoyed by the majority of them, but that's what's happened with The Beginning of the End.
Looking back in that cliched, overly sentimental way I have, I've realized that I've changed a great deal over the time I've been frequenting this sight.
I decided, for my three year anniversary, the least I could do is recognize some of the people who have made a large impact on me.
First off, Smile_its_Ellie. Your Hunger Games fanfics, one of which isn't even up anymore, were some of the first books I read here. Even though I'm not that into the Hunger Games anymore, I still read your Harry Potter fanfics and plan to keep doing so. We're not as close as we used to be, and that makes me kind of sad.
HayBay-.. You're an awesome person in general, and I'm glad you stumbled across my profile. I always enjoy talking with you about anything from classes to your horses to any sort of writing advice. Keep writing, because all of your short stories are amazing!
Riya121. We don't talk as much as when we first met. :( Your comments on my stories always used to make me smile, and that always seemed to make a rough day better.
qwertygirl123456. Lilly, you're awesome! You're one of those people who's easy to talk to, and I'm looking forward to getting to know more about you in the future.
Madisyn2004 and dalton222222. You guys have both been through so much, but you always try to keep a positive attitude. I don't see how you do it, but it's super inspirational. Maddie, you're great at helping me work things out with one of my story ideas, and even gave me the idea for the title of A Time of Courage. Dalton, your poems are absolutely amazing. I always love reading them, whether they're lighthearted or depressing, because I can feel the emotion through them. It's hard for me to do that with poetry, but I'll never stop reading yours.
Bananabrains13. You're my best friend on here. I remember we met through a comment chain on some Harry Potter fanfic ages ago. I don't even think that book's up here anymore, but I still remember it pretty well. I can talk to you about whatever's on my mind, and if you're online then I know you'll be there to listen. I'll be forever grateful for that. You've read every chapter of every one of my current books, and I love reading all your comments.
BrainNemesis and -midnightmagic-. You guys have both made covers for me, and I really appreciate that. You're both awesome at it!
Lastly thanks to 6PercentBatteryPower, @23haillee00, redroseforlife, and anyone else who's read, voted, or commented on one of my books.
