I want to make a game. I already have this huge plan for it, but I dont know where to start or how to start it.

I was thinking about a side scrolling rpg. Kind of like undertale (but not undertale). I want to learn how to make sprites and controls, but I never know how to. I look stuff up, but nothing has helped me. I've tried taking coding, but no class has really helped me to make a game. (unless I make a text story type of game.) I want to have visuals and memorable characters.

I kind of got the idea from watching Game Theory. For those who dont know, they're people who make logical sense out of games using facts. Its really for nerds like me, but I know some people who watch it for all the lore and ideas. (But they're usually nerds and geeks like me).

I got into the idea of making a game cut deep with lore and backstory, while having a simple icing layer for people who just want to enjoy a fun game.

The games will be based around my main 7 characters.

Natori, mathew, Klink, rebecca,  stella, makalia and dug.

I already got all this lore and idea ready, but I don't have money, good equipment or any knowledge on how to do so.

So....

I guess for now it will just stay a cool idea.

Oh well.....
