This has nothing to do with the reader, the reader isn't even mentioned, but my friend and I were talking about this and I just had to make it into a thing on here. It's not going to be in paragraph form though, I'm doing this like a head cannon sooo...sorry? \(•_•)/

• first, what instrument would each character play?

• Hermione is definitely a clarinet

• I can definitely see Ron playing a french horn/mellophone then getting frustrated/upset when he can't get the high notes(french horn is said to be the hardest instrument to learn for ya non band nerds)

• Harry would probably be a percussionist

•Draco would definitely play something with a big ego. Without a doubt, he'd have a bright, shiny, silver trumpet(another thing for you non band nerds, it's a joke in the band community that trumpet players have huge egos)

• YOU ALREADY KNOW FRED AND GEORGE PICKED THE TROMBONE ONLY SO THEY CAN MAKE SOUND EFFECTS WITH THEM

• Crabbe and Goyle would definitely play trumpet to be in the same section as Draco but definitely wouldn't be as good as Draco

• LUNA IS IN GUARD AND ANYONE CAN FIGHT ME ON THIS OH MY GOSH

• you already knOw that Flitwick would be the band director. He's already in charge of the choir, why not the band as well??

• For marching band, Hermione would, without a doubt, be drum major

• Ron and Harry would try to make her laugh when she's standing on the podium

• they'd struggle with succeeding and feel really proud of themselves when they finally got her to laugh or at least crack a smile

• the uniforms would be a mix of blue, red, yellow, and green for each house, with a little brown mixed in
• Draco would hate wearing the uniforms

• "they smell terrible and they're absolutely horrid! When's the last time they've washed these?"

• whenever something bad happened, Fred and George would be there in a millisecond with their trombones in hand to make the sound effects

• they do it so much

• too much

• it aggravates everyone after a while but Harry never gets sick of it

• the twins would also speak through their trombones as if it were a megaphone

• if Flitwick wasn't listing to them, they're pulling up their trombones

• "My father will hear about this" becomes a joke between the marching band but they keep it from Draco, Crabbe, and Goyle's knowledge

• at competitions, you bet your ass Hogwarts is one of those bands that are impossible to beat

• Draco enjoys competitions more than he will admit

• he says they're disgusting and absolutely boring, but he knows competition day is his favorite day of the week

• Flitwick is very proud, okay?

• like, he loves this band very much and is so proud of how they've improved and how hard they work

• Dumbledore goes to every competition

• he loves the band and he enjoys watching what the other schools have put together

• he congratulates the band after every performance

• whenever the band wins an award, despite having won many in the past, they treat them like they're their child

• they don't let anyone they don't trust near them

• they literally pick someone to hold onto it until they get home later that night

• no one allows those awards to leave their sight

• one time someone from another band was speaking poorly about the Hogwarts marching band

• Draco, unable to control his anger, went off on him

• the whole band heard the whole thing and found out how Draco really loved marching band

• no one lets him forget it

• he hates it so much and he even wished he had let that kid continue talking, even wished he joined that kid

• Crabbe and Goyle sometimes brings it up or laughs when the band does

• Draco gives them a look that shuts them up immediately

• aaaand the twins were back with their sound effects
