Jim Palmer doesn't exist in this universe. And yes I know this isn't exactly what happened in the episode.

Gibbs, Todd, and DiNozzo rushed down the ward hallway. "Jessica Smith's room? Sir, I'm not authorized." The nurse said. Gibbs kicked the door.

"So help me, I will kick down her door myself." Gibbs thundered. The nurse grabbed the keys and unlocked the girls room. Only to reveal her hanging from her upturned bed. A couple minutes you and Ducky arrive on the scene.

"She should've been observed. A young, troubled girl being left alone all night is negligent at best." Ducky said angered. You silently fumed keeping your thoughts inside. Commander Witten walked into the room.

"My god." He gasped. "Did she leave a note?" He asked.

"No." Gibbs said. "If she did, what would she have written?" Gibbs asked.

"I don't know." Witten said walking out of the room.

"He was the one responsible for the Petty Officer." Ducky said fuming.

"Easy Duck." Gibbs said holding the doctor back a bit. But no one stopped you as you stomped after the commander.

"How could you leave this women alone all night?" You asked the commander.

"There was a corpsman on duty." He replied

"One corpsman for the whole ward?" You asked

"We had seven patients. None of them were considered suicide risks."

You scoff. "And I'm sure her family will take solace from that. You should have had someone in the room with her. No matter what." You could here your voice rising a bit, you also knew you were creating a scene but fools like this man is why your sister had committed suicide.

"I guess we should have."

"You're darn right you should have. It's people like you who are responsible for Carolina's death." You yelled.

"(L/N)!" Ducky yelled.

"Sorry boss." You said walking back to him. You help him load the body into the truck. After a long-ish drive you're finally back at the headquarters.

Once you and Ducky had the body out on the table you knew it wasn't a suicide. "Ducky, this wasn't a suicide." You said

"And how do you know that?" He asked

"There's no bruising around the neck." You explained pointing to the girls neck.

"So there isn't. Let's start the autopsy and figure out what happened to the young lady." He said holding up the scalpel and cutting into the body. After a bit of digging through the body you were instructed to look at her face.

"Hey Ducky, I found bruising on the inside of her mouth." You said pealing back her lip.

"Let's check her nose." Ducky inspected her nose and found some bruising there too. Once you had sowed the torso back together Ducky called down Gibbs.

After Ducky showed Gibbs what the two of you had found and once Gibbs had left he gave you some everyone to hand over to Abby. You walked to the elevator and rode it to Abby's floor. You walked into her lab and your favorite band was blasting through her speakers. I guess she was listening to the album you have her for her birthday.(She wanted to try your music.) "Hey Abbs." You mumbled into her neck hugging her from behind.

"Hey, (N/N)," she replied.

"I have some evidence for you from Ducky." You said handing her the bag. She grabbed a pen and wrote her name on the bag, keeping the chain of evidence going.

"Thanks, (N/N). Hey, I heard from Tony that you yelled at the ward. Is that true?"

"Yeah.. " You confessed a bit sheepishly.

"You blamed him for the death of someone named Carolina? Ex-Girlfriend?" She asked.

"Sister." You responded tearing up. "My sister, Carolina, was admitted into a Navy ward for depression and somehow she was able to kill herself."

"Oh, (N/N)! I'm so sorry!! " She exclaimed wrapping you in a tight hug. You let out a little sob. She kept on hugging you until Gibbs walked in.

"Am I interrupting something?" He asked curtly.

"No," you said quickly wiping the tears off your cheeks and breaking Abby's hug.

"I don't even have anything for you, Gibbs!! " Abby exclaimed.

"I know, I need you to do something for me though." He said, waving at you to leave. You gave Abby a quick kiss on the cheek and left for autopsy.

Once you were done for the day you went back up to Abby's lab, this time with a Caf-Pow in hand. You walked in on her slurping the last of her previous one.

"Thought you might need this." You said handing her the caffeinated beverage.

"Aww! Thanks (Y/N), I just finished mine. And I'll be here for a while longer." She explained

"Then I'll stay with you. You might need a Caf-Pow supplier." You said sitting on one of her stools.

"You're the best!! " She said giving you a big hug. You smiled and hugged back.

~~~~~~~A couple hours later~~~~~~~

"Abby I need the match to those fingerprints we found!" Gibbs said walking in with a Caf-Pow only to see you and your girlfriend passed-out on her futon. He gave a small smile and pulled the blanket up over the two of you, leaving the Caf-Pow and exiting the room.
