(Be More Chill) Michael Mell x Reader
"His brother went from a straight D student to a freshman at Harvard!" Michael exclaimed. He was lying, that's not what happened. "You wanna know where he is now?" She, he corrected himself.
"Really happy and successful?" Jeremy guessed, Michael almost laughed.
"He's in a mental hospital," Michael stated, almost breaking down in tears. "Totally lost it." Not really.
"Alright, I don't see what that has to do with my-" Jeremy started.
"Think man!" Michel yelled, "We're talking an insanely powerful supercomputer! You think its primary function is to get you laid?!" She used it to make her home better. "Who made them?! How did they end up in a high school?! In New Jersey!! Of all possible applications for such a mind-blowingly advanced technology- you ever wonder what it's doing inside you?" Michael asked. She didn't know the consequences, She did know.
Jeremy scoffed, "I thought Chloe was jealous." He rolled his eyes.
"I'm honestly asking!" Michael persisted. She wouldn't want this.
"Oh really?" Jeremy shot back.
"Yeah," Michael confirmed.
"I think you're just passed that I have one and you don't," Jeremy concluded. Michael practically rolled his eyes. She had one, she's gone now. Why would I want one?
"Come on," he scoffed.
"And, maybe I got lucky, alright." Jeremy continued. "Is that so weird?! I mean with my history... I would say the universe owed me more. And look, I don't know about your friend's, brother's, whatever-," my girlfriend, "Man if you're telling me that the Squip made him crazy-"
Michael cut him off, "the Squip didn't make him crazy-"
"Well then, there you go!" Jeremy yelled. Micheal grabbed his friends shirt, crying.
"She went crazy trying to get it out!!" He yelled. Night after night of electric shocks and pain-filled screams.
"Well... Then I've got nothing to worry about- why would I want that?" Jeremy concluded, pushing his crying friend off him. Michael blocked the door. "Come on, man. Move it!"
Micheal let out a little chuckle, "or you'll what?" He can't end up like her.
"Get out of my way," Jeremy demanded, "Loser." Michael was shocked and hurt. He let Jeremy through, his only friend, maybe not even that anymore. He said down the wall, glasses fogging up from all the tears.
Someone knocked on the door, "open up!!" She yelled.
The only excuses Michael could think of was the one he and she had come up with. "I'm on my period!!"
"Take your time honey," The person said softly, her head the footsteps retreating.
Time Skip
"Hey, Michael," Jeremy rasped out.
"Hiya, Jeremy," Michael whispered back, handing his friend a glass of water. "How are you feeling?"
"Like crap," Jeremy laughed, "where's my dad?"
"He went to go get coffee and talk to the nice nurse. " Michael explained winking at his best friend. Jeremy just made a face.
"Ugh, don't make me picture it." Jeremy replied, "So, I never said sorry. Or thanks. So thanks Michael, and I'm sorry for how I treated you."
"Its no problem, we know the cure now, I have plenty Mountain Dew Red left of this ever happens again, which it shouldn't." Michael cheered.
"Yep!!" Jeremy responded. "By the way, where's that mental hospital that your friend's brother is? I wanted to talk to him."
Michael froze, Jeremy, didn't know about you. "I lied," Michael stated, getting a shocked look from Jeremy. "About it being my friend's brother who went crazy."
"Then who was it?" Jeremy asked, sitting up straighter.
"Her name is (Y/N), she's the best. She likes 80's music and old movies. She had an abusive father, someone had told her that the Equip could fix all her problems. So she tried it, why not at least try to fix her home life. So, she had a Squip and it did make her home life better, somehow. She told me everything about it, we were best friends and dating. But eventually, the Squip started doing bad things, making her do things she didn't want to do. We tried for months to get the thing out, everything we tried ended up in electric shocks and screams. It was horrible. We couldn't do anything, I couldn't do anything." Michael took in a deep breath, trying not to cry. "Then one night we came up with a temporary solution, put her in a mental ward, the Equip couldn't do anything because she would be monitored and anything it did do would be out off as insanity. It was the only thing we could come up with. The Squip didn't like it, of course, she could barely stop screaming. I had to drag her there, tell them something was wrong with her mentally. I visit her twice a week, she still has the Squip." Michael finished, taking off his glasses to wipe his eyes with his sleeve.
"Oh, Micheal, I'm so sorry." Jeremy breathed, placing a hand of Michael's trembling one.
"It's not your fault, but now we know about the Mountian Dew, I just have to get her to drink it," Michael explained, smiling weakly.

Michael and Jeremy walked into the ward, Mountian Dew Red clenched in hand. "Hey Michael, she's in her room." The nurse at the front desk greeted.
"Hey Debra, this is Jeremy. He's gonna come with me today," Michael explained.
"Cool, she's doped up though, she wouldn't stop screaming," Debra replied. Jeremy saw Michael wince.
"Ok, see you later," Michael said, waving as he went down a hallway, Jeremy following nervously behind. "She gets flirty when she's drugged, but the Squip goes away so that's a good thing."
"Flirty?" Jeremy asked.
"Yeah, it's actually really funny." Michael laughed.
"Sure..." Jeremy replied. Michael opened to door to a room, inside there were posters everywhere, fairy lights hung from the ceiling. There were pictures on the wall, mostly of Michael and you.
"Micha!!!!" The girl in the bed yelled, holding her arms out for a hug. Michael complied, giving her a big hug. She whispered something making Michael laugh.
"You're not good at pick up lines," he chuckled. She just pouted.
"Who's this Micha?" She asked, looking at Jeremy who was inspecting a picture on the wall.
"This is my friend Jeremy," Michael introduced. "Jeremy this is (Y/N)."
"But you can call me whenever you want." She flirted, smirking. Jeremy just blushed. Michael burst out laughing.
"The Squip is gone right?" Michael asked tapping his temple, she nodded.
"He went bye-bye," she giggled.
"Good, I brought something that might make him go bye bye forever," Michael explained holding up the soda.
"Really! Yay, no more Squippy!" She cheered, throwing her arms around Michael.
"You just have to drink this," Michael said, handing her the bottle. She smiled before chugging half the drink. Her smile disappears and she looked like she was in pain. "It'll be ok, just go to sleep," Michael comforted, laying her down on the pillow.
"I love you Micha," she whispered, passing out.
"I love you too," Michael responded, smiling softly, he kissed her forehead before getting up.
"Sweet," Jeremy smiled. Michael smiled sadly at his friend.
