"Nothing can stop me from loving my brother."

 "Brother and sister together as friends, ready to face whatever life sends."

 "Being a big sister is to love your brother, even if he doesn't want it or love you in return."

          Y is for younger brother. I've talked about my grandparents, cousins, mother, and older siblings, but I haven't talked about my younger brother Carson.

          Up until Carson was born, I was the baby of the family. It felt like they were afraid that I would suddenly grow up if they said the wrong thing, so I was relieved that all of that fear was transferred to Carson.

          Just like every other member of my family, Carson is weird. He would put a blanket over his head, then run around the house hitting walls saying, "I'm fine!" It was like Carson was on a mission to make people laugh.

          There is never a dull moment with Carson. His first few trips to the zoo, Carson got excited over the water in the enclosures. Not the animals, the water. Then, at least once a day, Carson gets stuck in something, a blanket, hamper, toy bin it doesn't matter, he will find a way to get stuck.

          Now, one of the most remarkable things about Carson is his pain tolerance. Our house is raised off the ground and one day Carson fell face first off the porch. Carson just casually gets up and says, "I'm fine." Maybe it's all the milk he drinks on a daily basis, I don't know, but Carson is one strong child.

          I have been injured several times, had to drag him out of the water, and much more because of this boy, and even after all that has happened because of him, including losing a baby turtle, I still love him. No one could ever replace the place in my heart that I have for Carson. I would give up my happiness if it meant Carson staying safe because he is the reason I'm happy.

          Our family enjoys comparing the younger ones to his or her older sibling or cousin. After four years, we still can't decide who Carson is most alike.
