          O is for optimism. Optimism has been one of the many things keeping me going. It has been around me for years.

          People have told me that the people I hang out with will influence who I become; well they were right. Somehow, I have managed to surround myself with the nicest and most optimistic people. Even little kids help me be optimistic.

          If I fail a test, I need to study more. If I don't make a team or a band, I need to practice more. These people I surround myself with help me realize the small things; without them, I would see things differently.

          When I freak out about an audition or a major test, I take a minute to tell myself that I'll pass or that I'll make it. If I don't, I just have to try harder.

          For some people being optimistic is hard because things didn't go as planned for them. They always see the worst in things because they didn't have the right people around them.

          I always try to look on the bright side of things. Whenever I get the chance, I use "bad" moments as a learning opportunity. Life goes much smoother when you look on the bright side of things because it's easier to see.
