Alpha C
"Without music, life would be a mistake."
C is for clarinet. I have always had a love for music, so when I had the opportunity to join band I took it. My brother, James, had a clarinet and let me use it for a couple of months in fifth grade. That Christmas, James gave me his clarinet. I couldn't have asked for anything better.
For the past three years, I have played the clarinet. This year, somehow, I was put on bass clarinet, a lower, harder, and bigger clarinet. When I practice, my little brother, Carson, likes to "help me" by pressing random keys on the clarinet. Carson even called my bass clarinet a trumpet. I love him, but he betrayed me for trumpet players and I can't forgive that.
I have always been attracted to country music. The guitars, meaningful lyrics, everything about country songs grabbed my attention. Unlike most people my age, I don't really care for pop or rap; I don't find them as meaningful as country songs. I sometimes got made fun of for listening to country music, but that never got to me because I could care less about what they thought about me.
Music has been my whole life since I was five. It's helped me through a lot: my grandfather's death, my brother leaving, my sister leaving, cleaning my room, doing homework. Music helped me express myself. No matter what, I know that I will have music for me.
