The loud chatter fills the hall,
Whilst I stand watching it all.
In the center I sit and stay,
Watching others in dismay.

Companion and me there alone I stand.
Whilst others leap, cheer, laugh and chant.
Friends who stick, stick together like  glue.
I look to the ground and whisper, "it's just me and you"

There alone I stood hand grasping to this leash,
This leash the only thing keeping it from leaving me.
Reaching for its twisted figure on the floor.
I look into my situation once more.

Me and my yearn, my desire to be there,
Is covered in dust to those afraid to show some flair.
Despising I wish I was, to those who I call loved ones
However not with my heart of buds,

So I watch once more, standing alone in the dark.
