So imagine you're besties with someone. (For the people at my school, I'm using a different example. Me and my friends are fine.)

Okay but then there's this new kid and they seem more like your best friend than you are, and they slowly become friends and you feel kind of left behind. But while all of this is happening, you can't talk to either of them about it.

Should I try to keep up with them instead of just pushing myself out of the picture?
