Memories

I got this idea from a chat on c.ai, this is not a new character, and if there's anyone who wants to claim her, go ahead, I don't mind ^w^

Words like this are memories

---------------

Shuma Todoroki was Shoto's twin sister, she had long red hair and blue eyes, unlike her twin brother. Her quirk was different as well, Shoto had half fire and half ice, whereas Shuma's quirk was like her oldest brother's, Touya's, she only had fire, but she had fire immunity, so she couldn't burn by any flame. Because her twin brother had a stronger quirk, their father, Enji, trained Shoto only, casting Shuma to the side, even though she wanted to be a hero.

Shuma was close with Touya, the two training together, even with their father forbid Touya to, Shuma was always there on the mountain top with him. "We'll prove Dad that we can be heroes too!" Touya said with a grin, Shuma smiled happily. "Yeah! He'll see!" she said happily. There were times when they trained, and Touya did get burned badly.

Whenever Enji found out, he would punish Shuma for using her quirk on Touya. "You know he can't handle flames like you can!" he yelled at the little girl, smacking her to the ground. "H-he asked me to!" she said, crying softly. "Y-yeah, she's helping me get stronger, she did nothing wrong! We just want to prove how strong we are!" Touya said, but Enji then hit him as well. "I told you you can't be a hero! Quit this now before you get hurt!" he yelled.

The two stopped for a while, but after a couple of years, Touya asked Shuma to train again. "B-but...Father said-"

"Come on, Shuma, please! I need your help! I beg you to train with me!"

"Mm...alright..."

The two went to the mountaintop, and trained together. Shuma used her flames as attacks, and Touya used his own to try and block them, and he discovered that he could make his flames hotter, and they were blue. "Whoa...that's amazing, Touya!" Shuma said with a smile, Touya smiled happily at his little sister. "Once Dad sees this, he'll be impressed!" he said, Shuma nodded, and the two trained for a couple more hours, before heading home.

Touya spoke to his father, telling him what he had discovered, and wanted to show him, which angered Enji that he had been training again. He took his frustrations out on his youngest daughter and wife. "I told you to keep them from training! And I told you that he couldn't handle it!" he yelled, but Shuma stood in front of her mother, while Shoto was trying to protect them both. "Leave them alone!" Shoto yelled, trying to hit him. "We're getting stronger! Why can't you just be proud of how far we've come!" Shuma yelled, tears in her eyes. "Go to your room! You won't leave your room for a month!" he yelled.

Later that night, Shuma went to her room as she was told, her older sister Fuyumi, hugged her. "Are you okay...?" she asked softly, Shuma shook her head. "Touya and I have worked so hard...why can't he see that...?" she hugged Fuyumi close, sobbing softly. Fuyumi petted her little sister's head, trying to comfort her.

But they then saw a fire...on the mountaintop.

"T...Touya?" Fuyumi said. Shuma's eyes widened, and she dashed for the door, but Fuyumi stopped her. "N-no! You won't want to be there!" she said, hugging her close. "I can save him! Let me go! I won't get hurt!" Shuma yelled, trying to get free from her sister's grip. Fuyumi didn't let her go, knowing she might get in trouble again, and knew it would be a horrifying sight to see her brother in flames...

"Please! Let me save him!" Shuma kept struggling, tears going down her face. "D-Dad will-"

"No, he won't! Let me save Touya! I need to save him!"

"Please! TOUYA!"

When the fire calmed down...the only thing left was Touya's jawbone. He was presumed dead...

Several years later, Shoto had went to U.A., and Shuma was made to go to regular high school, though she didn't care to be a hero after what happened to her brother. She had become angry and was always going against her father, fighting with him almost every day. She was more protective of her siblings, especially after Shoto got burned and her mother was put in the hospital. Despite being the youngest, she stood up for her siblings whenever she could.

One night, it was only Fuyumi, Shoto, Shuma, and Enji at home, Natsuo had been out with friends. "So, did everyone have a good day?" Fuyumi asked with a smile, Shoto just nodded as he ate. "Sure," Shuma said, poking at her food. Eni looked at Shuma. "Aren't you going to eat? Your sister worked hard on this meal," he said softly. Shuma glared up at him, despite the fight her father was in and had gotten a bad scar, her attitude towards him never changed. "I know she did. I see the work she puts in," she said coldly, taking a bite of food. Enji narrowed his eyes on her but let out a sigh. He had tried to be a better father but wasn't getting anywhere with Shuma. "Let's not fight...what did you do in school?" he asked, taking a bite. Shuma scoffed a bit. "After so long, you want to care? Tch-"

"Shuma, please...just tell us how school went," Fuyumi said, rubbing her hand. Shuma let out a huff, looking at her plate. "...I got an A on my math quiz," she said, poking at her food, Shoto gave her a small nod. "Good job," he said simply. "That's amazing! We'll have to let Natsuo know when he gets home that he did well tutoring you," Fuyumi said with a smile. "Oh, Natsuo helped? If you would've asked me-" "And why would I ask you?" Shuma snapped at him, the tension returning to the room.

"I'm not bad at math, Shuma...why do you get upset when I offer help?"

"Because last time one of us needed help...you let him burn."

Shuma stood up from the table, went to the door, and got her shoes on. "Where are you going?" Enji asked. "The mountain top. I want to see Touya." Shuma said before storming out the door, Enji sighed, and Fuyumi rubbed his arm. "She just misses him..." she said softly. "...I know..." Enji said quietly.

Shuma went up to the mountaintop, some of the plants were still burnt, while others had started to grow back. She went and sat on a charred rock, holding her knees to her chest. "Touya...I miss you..."

Soon, she heard footsteps. "I swear old man, if you-" she started, thinking Enji followed her. But...she saw a villain from the League of Villains...Dabi.

"What are you doing here late at night, kid?" he asked, having a blank expression. "...I could ask you the same..." she said, her hand glowing softly. Dabi sighed, going and sitting down. "I'm not gonna hurt you, just came here to think."

"...You came here specifically to think?"

"Yeah. Got a problem with it?"

"...I usually don't let strangers up here..."

"Do you own this mountain?"

"No, but my..."

Shuma trailed off for a moment, looking down. "I used to train with my brother here a long time ago...only him and I came up here..." Dabi looked at her, seeing she seemed sad. "Did your brother get tired of training with you?"

"...My brother died here...he wasn't immune to flames..."

"Oh. I see."

The two sat in silence for a moment. Shuma looked over at him, looking at his face. Despite his burns, he seemed...so familiar. "...What's your name?"

"I go by Dabi..."

"Dabi...? Is that your villain's name or actual name?"

"Does it matter?"

"Dabi sounds stupid."

Dabi chuckled slightly, looking at her. "What would you use as a villain name?" Shuma thought for a moment. "Maybe the Blue Demon since you have...blue fire..." She looked down for a moment, letting out a shaky breath.

"...Could you tell me about your brother?" Dabi asked, looking out at the night sky. Shuma looked at him before speaking.

"...My brother's name is-...was Touya...he was a happy kid, despite how bad our father treated him...and me...and Mom...he was determined to be a hero...he even wanted me to be his hero partner...so we could prove our dad wrong...we trained here every day for a while, and we got so strong...but one day, after we trained, Touya told our Dad...and he came up here, he couldn't control his quirk and...the mountain top when up in flames..."

"TOUYA"

She remembered yelling her brother's name that night...

"Let me save him!"

"I...I wanted to save him...but my sister kept me in my room...I couldn't save him...he knew I could've..."

"Let me go!"

"...I loved him so much...he knew I was immune to fire...he probably hated me when he died...I'm a terrible sister..." Shuma started to cry, laying her head on her knees. Dabi then rubbed her back, letting out a soft sigh.

"...I think he loved you to the very end..." Shuma looked up at him with her teary eyes. "Y...you think he did...?" she asked softly, Dabi looked down, nodding. "Yeah...I don't think he blamed you..."

Dabi started to stand up, but Shuma grabbed his arm. "W-where are you going?"

"You said you didn't want strangers here...probably shouldn't over stay my welcome."

"I...you're okay to be here...you remind me of Touya...please stay a little longer..."

"...Heh, alright kid..."

Dabi smiled slightly, sitting back down, and just sat there. 'I love you, sis...I'm sorry you've been suffering for so long...when I reveal myself, I'll take you away from this shitty life...' Dabi thought to himself, rubbing her back.
