This is before Mei and Koy start dating

Koy was pacing slightly. "Do you really think she'll say yes?" he asked, looking over at Bakugou, who just huffed. "Look, if she didn't have a thing for you, she wouldn't be giving you goo goo eyes all the time, stop bitching and just go talk to her," he said, crossing his arms. "Okay okay, but...are you sure she-" 

"JUST GO!" Bakugou yelled, pushing Koy into the classroom. Koy caught himself, letting out a sigh that he didn't fall. He looked around before seeing Mei talking to Mina. He took a deep breath and walked over. "Hey, Mei? Could we talk real quick...?" he asked, Mei and Mina looked up at him. "Uh, sure, what's up?" she asked, Mina saw Bakugou peeking by the door and realized what was happening. "I'll be back! You two enjoy your chat!~" she said, waving and walking off before standing by Bakugou, the two watching. 

"So...I was wondering if...maybe you'd like to hang out with me this weekend?" Koy asked, blushing softly. "Maybe the..." 'You better say theaters,' Bakugou thought to himself. "The space observatory down town?" Koy asked, rubbing his neck. 'Fucking nerd...' Bakugou thought with a groan. Mei blushed slightly before looking down. "...Sorry, I can't...." she said, turning away from him. "Oh...okay, um, well whenever you're free we could plan-" "No. I don't want to go out with you, alright? Just buzz off," she said with a huff. Koy felt his heartbreak. "...Alright then..." he went and took his seat, hiding his face. "What the hell...?" Bakugou whispered, seeming upset. "What?! But I thought she liked him..." Mina said, pouting a bit. 

Later that day

During lunch, Mei went to go get in line, but Bakugou grabbed her arm, dragging her out of the cafeteria. "Oi, let me go you-" "We need to talk." He said, sounding serious. He dragged her behind the school, glaring at her. "What was that?" 

"Huh?" 

"Earlier, with Koy." 

"...I just don't like him that way." 

"Do you like him at all? Or are you just playing with his emotions?" 

Mei looked at him, her eyes narrowing. "Excuse me?" 

"Admit it. You hate Koy, don't you?" 

"Tch, you're a dumbass." 

Bakugou growled, his grip getting tighter. "You chicken, you coward! You can't face your feelings because you're pathetic and weak!" Mei pulled her arm away, scoffing. "I can live with that, at least I'm not a violent psychopath!" 

"At least I'm not a coward! Go on, say it! If you won't accept that Koy is in love with you, then say you hate him! Go on, say it! SAY IT!" Mei suddenly punched Bakugou in the jaw, but she was also tearing up. 

"You don't know ANYTHING about how I feel! You have no idea and you never will because you're so stupid! Always thinking with your heart instead of your head, I'd kill to be that way! If I told him how I really felt about him, he'd leave EVERYTHING behind for me! His hopes, his dreams, he'd sacrifice everything! If he knew the truth, he'd do it! That's the kind of person he is! And I..." Mei then bursted into tears, trying to keep herself composed. "...I won't let that happen to him!" 

Bakugou stood there, stunned by what she said as she cried. He didn't know what to say because he knew she was right, he was the kind of person to drop everything for the people he loved...he didn't know what to tell her. "...He is that guy...but pushing him away isn't the right thing...because even if you aren't his, he's still going to do everything for you, he's sacrificed his time just to be with you, to help you study, to make sure you didn't get hurt in training, can't you see? He's already put you over himself, so just...don't break his heart, okay...?" Mei looked at Bakugou, wiping her tears away. "But I...I don't want to be the reason he-" 

"Let him be there, let him hold you close because either way...he's always going to drop everything for you."
