"You did great on your last mission agent Howls" Nora said and put her hands on her desk

"Thank you director"

Even what most people would think, the head of the federal agency was indeed called a director. I don't make the rules. Google it

"I must say I didn't expect that you would get...distracted" She grumbled and looked me in the eyes. Her face was a mask of stiffness, but just beyond that I could see the slight flicker of amusement

"I promise it won't happen again" I quickly said and leaned forward towards her "Jasmine is a sly fox director"

"Indeed she is" Nora looked at her laptop in though and started to mindlessly play with her golden ring "I have another mission for you"

"Already?" I exclaimed and raised an eyebrow. It was unusual for someone to get a new mission so soon. It could take weeks or even months sometimes to get  a new job to do

"Mhm. And we will have you transferred there until second notice"

I blinked. Slowly. "For how long?"

"Depend on you. How long do you think is a school year?"

"You are going WHAT?"

I sighed "Yup. You heard me. Im being send back in high school"

"For what?"

"To gather information from one of the teachers. She's supposed to be working on some nuclear weapon that can wipe out a whole country Jess. I can't let that happen" I started walking faster down the halls, my hand going into a fist as I focused on getting to my office as fast as possible

"For the whole year? You will be there for the whole year?"

"Mhm. Can you believe it? High school! I barely lived that down a couple of years ago!"

"Bit you have changed Red, don't worry. You are going to do great. Now get your shit together because scared Red scares me"

I laughed at her comment and shook my head "You are unbelievable. Thank you I guess"

"Always welcomed princess"

I stopped in my tracks, my body freezing in place as I turned over to the window like it was my friend staring back at me "Don't. Never call me that again Jessy. Understood?"

"My theory is correct then" She laughed and I frowned

"What theory?" After a beat of silence I crossed my arms, a slight feeling of concern rising in my chest. Was she ok? "You there?"

"Obviously. I just can't believe you like her"

"What? I don't- I do not like her"

"And you stuttered again"

"Shut up!" I raised my voice a little and stormed off,  not being able to stay still anymore and headed for my office to pack then go home to pack even more

"Come on Red you might not like her but you can't deny you feel something for Jasmine. Even if it's purely physical. I have footage from the cameras to prove it"

"I dont" I simply stated, like a fact that I refused to believe was true and opened the door to the plain old white room. I really need to decorate

I could hear Jessy sigh from the other end of the line "This will take a lot of time"

Jasmine POV

I walked over to my superiors and bowed my head as a sign of respect "You called me?"

"Yes. Sit down please" Mako held his hand out and gestured to the seat in front of him, taking a seat behind his desk

I obeyed and crossed my legs, awaiting an answer "Well?"

"Your encounter with Mila yesterday was quite... interesting" He bit his lower lip as if to hold back a smug smile I just knew was there and adjusted in his seat

I nodded and blew out a breath "I had to get to my target somehow sir"

"I know, and I applause your skills agent. However, a little birdie told me our dearest rivals from FAOD will be sending their youngest recruit back in high school" He smirked and started swirling a strand of his long hair between his fingers but something told me he was withholding something

What did he mean by sending her back? They would never send their nest agent away just because of some high school

"And she will be gathering information from Bellie, our undercover agent"

"The one with the nuclear weapon?"

"Exactly. And...we need someone to keep an eye on her. To keep her distracted"

The moment those words left his mouth I could feel a slow grin spreading across my face, letting me know just how fun this would be "And that would be me"

"You leave today. The school year starts tomorrow and we will get you a house close to campus. Prepare your bags and report everything to me. Understood?"

I nodded and cracked my fingers, making my boss flinch slightly with an uncomfortable expression "I will be off then" I said as I stood up and headed for the door, my hand staying just slightly above the doorknob

"Oh and Jasmine?"

"Yeah sir?"

"Have fun. You deserve it"

"Thank you Mako...sir" I grinned once his face twisted in anger and quickly exited the room and shut the door close behind me. This was going to be a fun year

"Ok Red let's see this apartment of yours"

"I still can't believe they booked me such a big place. It's bigger than a house Jess" I fidgeted with the strap of my bag while I I waited for the elevator to reach the top floor, my insides a strange mix of fear and excitement

"Time to see it for ourselves right?"

The double doors finally opened and I stepped in the small hall with only one wooden door in the centre of it. It was carved from head to toe, each carving a adding its own beauty to the worn down wood

"Holly Jesus Jessy..."

"What? OooH it's the door isn't it?"

"I can already tell this place costs more than my salary and bank combined" I mumbled in aw as I slowly approached the door and out my hand on the cool metal ring, almost feeling like I was send back in time. I pushed the heavy door open and my eyes widened once they landed on the things inside

It was sleek and modern, white walls with dark furniture and white accents. There were several plans placed around the corners of the room and different lamps and lights over the walls too

There were even fairy lights decorating the ceiling of the balcony!

In the middle of the big room there was a big fireplace a TV on top of it and a window on each side. Not to mention the silky curtains

"Uh Mila, put me on your phone I want to see!"

"Oh...sorry" I went out of my stunned stare and tried to fish out my phone from my jacket. After a couple of minutes I was able to find it with an inside down Jessy already lighting up my screen

She quickly turned over and walked closer to the screen "Come on I don't have all day Red"

I laughed airily and turned the phone around. She gasped and shook her head "Holly mother of Jesus...."

"I know"

"It's not even my style but holly shit you get to live there. I'm definitely coming over"

I smirked ever so slightly and gestured around the room "Please do" then I put my bags down and walked over to the other doors "Let's see the rest"

"You better do or I'm sending a virus for a housewarming gift"

"Ha ha very funny but you are not the only one that can hack things miss Thompson"

"Shut up"

I opened the dark wooden door to reveal a bathroom that belonged in ancient Greece. Marble columns with a golden sink and...vines?

"Are those-"

"I don't know" I walked over to the vines and touched them, the leaves feeling as real as any other you would find outside "They are 100% real" I stated and took a step back

"Wow..." Jessy shook her head in disbelief  and leaned back in her chair

I went to the next room, finding a similar kitchen that was as modern as it could get. There was giant black fridge, counters and a mini bar and even stools on each side on the counters. Everything you could ever want in a kitchen was here

"I should go to school more often"

"Agreed"

I ran my hand over the polished surface and looked out of the window. We were high up in the sky, it was the eleventh floor after all but I didn't mind. I loved highs as weird as it sounded

The next rooms that I saw were the guest room and my bedroom, each having a warm brownish colours for their colour palette. The room that I chose had golden blankets put on top of the brown ones and library in one corner of the room

"I have to go Red. But call me and tell me everything tomorrow ok? I'm not taking no for an answer"

I was going to respond bit before I could even get a single word out the screen turned black and the room felt utterly quiet. I tossed my phone on the bed and went to grab my luggage and start unpacking

I had a lot of work to do

I was done with unpacking, happily content with the fact that I had organized my closet, bedroom, bathroom and every other room in the apartment for the past 3 hours. Then I had taken a shower and I was now watching a movie on the ceiling

Yeah they gave me a projector. I found it at the bottom in one of the desks

It wasn't until my phone rang that I put the slices of apples aside and frowned when I saw the unknown number. Who could be texting me so late in the night?

I clicked on the notification and I found myself being taken insude the app, a blue buddle flashing before me

'See you tomorrow agent'

My frown only intensified. It wasn't Jessy, nor anyone that I knew that could possibly not have my number. I made sure of that. So who was this stranger who had texted me so late into the night?

'Who are you?'

I sat up and watched the screen for any response, any indication that the other person had seen it but after fifteen minutes of only the deafening response of silence I put the phone down and grabbed the remote to turn back on my movie

Ding

I couldn't even see my hand taking the phone yet I was found with another blue bubble under my message

'You will find out eventually ;)'

I rolled my eyes. They were playing by the long game then. Fine. I could too

I put the phone on my nightstand and turned off the projector. It was going to be a long night
