So my family is gigantic. My grandmother(dad's side) was one of eleven kids! And that's not even half of it- she had thirteen stepsiblings- but they come later, after my great-grandmother's death and after my great-grandfather's marriage to my step-great-grandmother. 

So I came across a small list that they had for what they would buy(at the top)

For those who can't read what is says, this is it in typing: 

Family of 13 to feed: 

21 loaves of bread per week

9-11 pounds of butter per week

10 pounds of potatoes per supper

Largest cornflake boxes

9 lunches per school day

Shredded wheat

Weston Breed Truck came to the house after doing its rounds to small stones. Any items pulled from the shelf were sold at next to nothing to Mum. Filled freezer and we loved donuts as a treat.
