box
At my school, instead of lockers, the secondary school students had to bring a huge box to school to keep all our books inside. The boxes were placed beside our desks, and were as you expected, really freaking heavy.
So last year at the first week of school, I was really freaking awkward and didn't know literally anyone in the classroom (other than one kid who came from the same school as me, but he's not plot revalant in this story). One day, the teacher told us to take our bags and boxes and move them to the back of the classroom for a game, I think. (My memory is fuzzy)
And if there's something you guys don't know, I'm really, really, weak. So naturally, I didn't have the strength to pick up the stupid 10kg box.
Either way, my lack of physical strength added with social anxiety in a new environment made me decide that I'd just move my bag to the back and come back to push the box later. So after lugging my schoolbag to the back of the classroom, I turned behind to move my box
Surprise surprise, one of the kids in my class is carrying my box towards me without any sign of struggling. He informed me he was helping to carry my box, dropped it beside my bag, and went off to do something else, leaving me staring with my mouth gaping open in shock that a person could be so nice.
And that was probably the first time I realized that secondary school life might not be as bad as primary school life.
