Story Time No. 4
"Captain.. I can't hold it back anymore!"
"Nnh.."
"Captain! My limits are reaching!"
"Gomen'nasai Shusho!!"
"There is no need to hold back anymore! Release it ALL!!!"
"""""WOOOOOAAAAHHHH!!!!"""""
As I watched, I really couldn't understand much here. Here I was, sitting on the benches as a real "Kuroko no Basket Extreme Bromance Edition" unfolded before me. I was just a bench player- at most. I was only here to substitute for a friend of mine since I was "nominated". Oh well..
"We, are men! There is no need to go gentle throughout this night. We will FIGHT!"
""""YUSH!""""
"Make sure you keep your jerseys on and pride intact as we thrust our full force towards the enemy and make them scream in pain tonight!"
""""Let's DO IT!!""""
"Please let this night end.. I'm straight... Kami-sama please save me," I prayed.
"When we start, we will push them down and force them to pant hard as we crush them with our might prowess. This night will be ours!"
God has left me to provide happiness to another group of man.
One hour later...
"Luccato-kun, you're up."
"Please Luccato-chan, avenge me! Nnh.."
"No *insert name here*-kun! Come Luccato-kun, we will avenge him!"
"Everyone! Fighting spirit! Don't run out of energy until it breaks!"
"""WOAH!!!"""
'It' break? Okay I'm sure that was completely meant to be interpreted wrong.
More importantly, I got dragged into the game somehow. I wasn't really that good at basketball to begin with, but there I was. The score was 56-69 and we were losing severely. The last quarter was about to start with mostly everyone tired. Oh, that includes me too.
"Huraahh!"
"*insert name here*-kun! This is for you!"
Senpai #1 made a perfect shot from behind the half court line and shot the ball. Maintaining shooting form while shooting the ball more or less accurately from such a far distance was quite admirable. Maybe I didn't have to do anything at all.
Sadly, Senpai #1's miracles were not those of Kuroko no Basket. Go figure. The ball bounced off the tip of the rim of the basket and fell into Senpai #2's possession. Senpai #2 was essentially the "Titan" on our team. I relaxed as I watched him jump vertically to make a dunk.
However, he was off by about two inches and the ball bounced off towards the out of bounds. Just when I finally resolved myself to move an inch, I heard an intense battle cry come from the other side of the court. Kouhai #1 seemed to pop out of nowhere to get the ball. Rushing in, he grabbed the ball and made a decent layup. The ball changed possessions as our team switched to defense. I was too lazy to move.
"Drop it. *slurp*"
Senpai #3, our best defense had a way with words- and actions. Having him on defense allowed us to easily gain the ball once more. However, our Akashi is quite limited. He can only perfectly perform his "persuasion" once every five minutes per person.
Our team seemed to work extra hard as we started gaining more points. *insert name here*-senpai, your sacrifice was a noble one. However, I'm sorry that you never got a proper name.
At some point, the air changed as the last thirty seconds were wasting away. Each team had their own perfect defense and offense, not willing to let the other score. The score? 75-76. They supposedly only needed one more field goal to win. Oh, I forgot I was on the losing team.
"Senpai #1!!!"
Kouhai #1 ran out of steam and threw a quick pass like a bullet to Senpai #1. Thirteen seconds on the clock. The person guarding him was also a huge person. Probably around 6'2". Not the normal high school child? Anyways, Senpai #1 had a difficult time with him as he dribbled at abnormal speeds. By the way, when I say "abnormal", it means something I'm too lazy to comprehend completely. Fierce dribbling pounded away at the floor until the enemies' Colossal Titan focused his eyes on something else- Kouhai #1.
"Nuu! Senpai win for me!"
Kouhai #1-kun, I will always remember your deeds. However, I will never know of your name.
Senpai #1 grimaced as he shot.
"I'm shooting it inside for you!!"
I'll be blunt. He missed.
As for where the ball went? To me. It landed perfectly in my arms which I haven't moved for the last five minutes. I felt a special bonding moment with that ball. Unfortunately, we had a "Romeo and Juliet" situation.
The enemy charged directly at me as the last few seconds remained on the clock.
"Juliet.. Sayonara" My tears fell as I lazily released the ball into the air. It rolled around the rim for a few seconds as I got tackled down "by accident" as if saying good bye to me. Then, it fell down to the ground.
The noise increased dramatically as our team won the game, but what was the point? I lost. I won some other guy's battle, yet I lost my own war. Juliet.. is gone now.
"Yo, Luccato-kun. We have cake after this!"
Never mind. Cake-chan is always there for me. Cake-chan is always there for the people who need her blessing. May all the people who are depressed have a good appointment with Cake-chan.
Morals of the Story: Don't play basketball with the group I played with. In addition, if you are a person who likes to slack off, like me, don't play any sports if you can help it. It hurts. A lot.
