Once again, my mind has been clogged up with plenty of ideas to use for writing, and with what's going on in my life right now, I've decided to just follow my whims.

Which basically means starting another story and leaving it unfinished. As usual.

It's pretty funny actually.

I've always been meaning to write a slice of life story where all the characters are just lovable people quietly living about their lives. Perhaps it's because that's what I want in my life too, yet I still choose to write other things.

A World to Understand was the first step towards fulfilling this idea of a "slice of life", but as I planned out the entire storyboard, it only grew more complex and twisted itself into a dark hole. I realized that this type of thing was slowly steering away from the "slice of life" I had in mind. Of course, I don't mean to drop A World to Understand. It's a fun series where I just let loose. However, I want to freely express my writing in another way.

"Even Now" was published and unpublished to undergo some stylistic changes. After getting some help, it'll be put up again. It was created for the sake of bringing back into writing- which it did. So now, a plethora of ideas have been continuing to flood my mind as I continue to hesitate on what to write.

Then I remembered. The one series that got me into this desire of writing slice of life stories.

Invaders of the Rokujouma!? 

I would recommend this anime to anyone. Of course, since it's me, it's another harem-related show. However, I was fortunate enough to read the series. Each heroine had an incredible amount of depth and was certainly relevant to the story. More than that, I was attracted to the "daily" life of the characters.

It seemed fun.

Of course, I've been inspired by a number of other series.

Arifureta

This too was a translated series I found while reading online. Another isekai harem series. However, there is a certain charm to it. The plot is most definitely different compared to most isekai and the struggles of each of the characters are well defined. Funny enough, this fantasy story was more "real" than anime like "Smartphone in Another World" or whatever. You will become drawn to the main character and the people supporting him. I'm sure of it. 

Arifureta also has a slice of life segment after everything ends in the main story. Reading how each of the characters live their lives even after being affected by the events of Arifureta was always amusing.

There's more I'd like to mention, but the list would be endless.

In the end, I'm really not suited to being a writer. Just a reader. However, even if I don't finish my stories (I don't plan on not finishing), I ultimately just want my ideas to materialize even if it's for a single chapter.

Maybe this is just another phase I'm going through, and it'll end some time in the future haha.

But for now, I'd rather not do nothing and hesitate.

So, I'll be starting a new story which will compile a lot of the inspirations that I had over the years. It'll certainly be a slice of life. It will be random. It will definitely contain a harem setting. It will most definitely have fantasy elements. School life check. Aliens check. Cat girls check. Tsunderes check.

I'm throwing everything into this in case you haven't realized it yet.

Okay perhaps not everything, but you get the point.

It'll be a happy story. One about friendship between two guys.

One of them holds onto a lingering regret while supporting his friend. The other has moved on and will continue to move forward the way he pleases. Along the way, they will encounter to mystical, the magical, the sciences from fictional stories, and much more. All while gaining many friends along the way.

Well, we're going to be focusing more on the supporting cast anyways.

The name of the story will go something like this:

"It's Hard being the Ultimate Side-Character (when your best friend is a template main protagonist)"
