(Warning: may contain RB spoilers. If you've already seen the show or you're like me and don't care about/love spoilers, proceed.)

   Like a lot of people, I immediately zeroed in on Blades as my favorite Rescue Bot. It wasn't until I went back and started rewatching season one that I noticed some things about the other RBs, particularly Heatwave and Boulder.

  Blades is the youngest RB and is seen as the most innocent one; the cinnamon roll. He's excitable and a bit of a scaredy bot. However, I think Boulder might be more of a cinnamon roll. I don't mean like TFP Bumblebee (whom Blades most resembles personality-wise) but like Bulkhead with a tiny bit of Bee.
Case in point:
-Loves earth and its inhabitants
-Curious about everything
-Very laid back and easy-going
-Also super excited about everything
-Readily willing to learn and try new things
-Seriously, look at his face

I rest my case.

Now for Heatwave!

It's easy to brush him off as just the grumpy leader who wants off Griffin Rock. He wants to be a part of something that matters to him, not help out a bunch of ungrateful humans. Some people like him because he's such a grump, but he's more than that.

In the first episode of season 1, he's the first one to accept Cody's help. Even though he's not thrilled about acting like a mindless robot, he does it to make Cody happy. Besides this, he's the only one who went back for Cody while the others chased after Trex. And he's the first to defend him as part of the rescue team. He's definitely not perfect; there are times when he lets his teammates down and gripes about being unappreciated. But he continues to protect and serve Griffin Rock and look after Cody and Frankie (though he'd never admit it, he's grown surprisingly fond of them).
He takes his duties seriously, remarking that not wanting to be part of an event doesn't mean he won't do his job. He's loyal to his team and his responsibilities. He takes to heart Chief Burns' philosophy: when it comes down to it, saving life always takes priority.

Give this grumpy boy a chance. He's more than meets the eye.
