Vanguard Decks I Own
Hey, guys!
I haven't been around much because I've been floored with life, but I want to take this free time I have to reconnect with the community a little (or at least what's left of it). I feel like this would be a good time to share something about myself, so I decided to share a list of my Vanguard decks. So, without further adieu, let's roll.
Gear Chronicle - Lost Legend
This is my go-to deck in Standard. Believe me, I frikin' pounced on this deck like a Nazi on a live grenade when it came out. No, even before it came out. I bothered all kinds of vendors who got the cards upon the sneak peek. Not to mention, I blew half my monthly savings on it.
For a deck I only run 4 grade 3's in, I find it surprisingly consistent. Though, it's a bit of a high roll sometimes. But I've been through a lot with this deck. I've fought my friends in Team Astraea with it, fighters in France, and even beat a very prominent fighter here in Ireland with it. I have it pimped out In Lost Legend sleeves, Oversleeves, and even stuck a Gear Chronicle Clan Crest from a TD Clan Card on its deck box with superglue. Not even mentioning my EB04 playmat.
In all, it's no Chronofang (who, those of you who know me will know, is my true avatar unit), but this deck and Gear Chronicle are near and dear to my heart. Except Chronojet. F**k Chronojet.
Gold Paladin - Garmore
My second favourite deck, or rather tied for first, is my Gold Paladin Garmore deck. With no Chronofang in Standard, I decided to go back to my roots. Back when I started Vanguard, one of my favourite units was the legendary Silver Wolf himself. So, as far as right now, Garmore is my current avatar. I love the deck so much, but finishing it was a chore. Do you have any idea how hard it was to get Viviane's and Marks? My God, too much work. And soon I'll have to spring on Kahedin and Hoel too? Gimme a break...
But as the Garmore deck is very important to me, it deserves more protection than too prom night lovers. So, it is equipped with Ultra Pro Garmore Sleeves (terrible quality, stay away) and Yamoman Z Sleeves.
Murakumo - Mandala-Shirayuki
This was actually my first Standard deck. After having the opportunity to play with physical cards for the first time, I needed a deck first. And so, I tried out some choice Budget decks, but the most spectacular of the all was Covert Demonic Dragon, Mandala Lord and his posse of professional assassins. For a measly €25, this deck has served me well and has continued to serve me.
As of late, I figured that I had an abundance of cash to pay my waifu tax, so I used my surplus funds to buy playsets of Stealth Fiend, Rainy Madame, Stealth Fiend, Jakotsu Girl and Fantasy Petal Storm, Shirayuki. Now, for a deck with a lot of girls in it, it sure is a dick.
Royal Paladin - Soul Saver Dragon
This is one of those deck were I had no idea why I got it, but I'm not unpleased. Soul Saver can be a riot of a deck, just as Kyle. He loves it when I Soul Blast 10 cards while Palamades with Force 2 is on the field.
I'm a great friend.
Spike Brothers
Another deck I never intended but here we are. You see, I found out my local store sold Vanguard cards, and wanted to support them. So, I ended up buying there boxes of V-EB 01: The Destructive Roar. And so, having pulled two Seifrieds and an OR Juggernaut Maximum, I set my sight in building Spike Bros.
This deck is really fun and great for teaching, but my issue is that it's impossible to finish. You guys have NO idea how hard it is to get two more Seifrieds and JMs, and 3 more Spike Bouncers. Nobodies selling 'em! And the next sets coming out soon, maybe it'd be best to cut my loses...
Nubatama - Shura Stealth Dragon
I know, I know. Too ninja decks owned by one guy? What a weeb I am! Well, hold on, there's an explanation, I swear.
Well, looking at my list so far, you may notice a trend. No? Lemme assist you.I
Force.
Accel.
Accel.
Force.
Force.
You see what I'm getting at?
So, I needed a Protect deck. But there was a problem. I wasn't gonna spend tons of money on Granblue or Megacolony, didn't have enough for Dark Irregulars, and didn't want to resort to selling my body to afford OTT. But lo, the Lord bestowed upon me a solution. The budget Nubatama variant featuring Shura Stealth Dragon, Kujikirikongo. And yes, I do bite my tongue mid-ride chant.
This deck is pretty passive most of the time, but when it pops off, it is disgusting. Kokushigarasu, or Big Bird as he is better known as, does a big giant duke of the opponents hand and formation while Kujikiri stops them from blocking you.
Once again, I am a good friend.
Trial Decks 2-4 - Kagerō, Aqua Force, and Shadow Paladin
I mainly bought these to help expand the games reach locally. But I do have plans for Kagerō and Aqua Force.
I'm planning to convert the Kagerō TD to a Blademaster deck, and the Aqua Force to a Blue Wing/Navalgazer deck.
I am no friend, but a degenerate.
And I think that's all of them! I hope you guys had a little fun reading through my list. I actually have a Nova Grappled Hero Deck on the way, so I hope my friends on Astraea are ready for that!
Peace out!
