CHOCTAW
What I have so far.....
Nation Name: Choctaw
Human Name: Shikoba (meaning "feather")
Age: 3,600 (appears to be in early twenties)
Sexuality: straight
Appearance: long dark hair done in two braids that hang in front of his shoulders, tanned skin tone, light honey-brown eyes, lean build.
Apparel: faded jeans, light blue (modern made) traditional shirt, traditional beaded "headband", prefers to go barefoot.
Personality: friendly, somewhat assertive, family-oriented, brave, heart-strong, somewhat reserved, not afraid to speak his mind.
History: He lived in what is now present day Mississippi for the majority of his life. Though others came and found his people around the 1500's it wasn't until the 1700's he saw major change. British settlers came and made homes close to the Choctaw, at first Shikoba allowed trade and selling between them, as the Choctaw had always had a strong tradition of doing business, but when the Seven Years War finally ended in 1763 with the victory going to the British things changed. The British acquired both French and Spanish land in America. Including parts of Mississippi. The Choctaw were forced to move west of the Mississippi River. Things, though tensional, weren't bad until around 1784-1825. During these years several treaties were made between the American settlers and the Choctaw in which more and more land was ceded over to the British. Eventually in 1830 the Treaty of Dancing Rabbit Creek was made ceding the last of Choctaw land to the settlers. From 1831-1833 the American government removed the majority of the Choctaw from their native land to present day oklahoma on the first Trail of Tears. Though some stubbornly remained and either went into hiding or pretended to be white. Others over time were removed as well and sent to join the rest of the Choctaw in Oklahoma. Shikoba and his people, over time, settled in their new home. Later other settlers, called Sooners made their place in the land as well and it evolved into what we know today as Oklahoma. Shikoba has developed a strong dislike of those early settlers and it has even transferred over to many Oklahomans today. Though his tradition of business has remained and he is now the third largest tribe and very successful. (Many of his people still serve their tradition in the military as code talkers).
Nation Name: 2p!Choctaw
Human Name: Nita (meaning "bear")
Age: 3,600 (appears to be in early twenties)
Sexuality: unknown
Appearance: long messy black with the ends tied in equally messy braids, darkly tanned skin, pink-magenta eyes, lean boxer's build, has a horseshoe shaped scar branded into his lower right back that he keeps wrapped in bandages (which he never takes off because he's never shown nor told anyone of his scar).
Apparel: no shirt, deerskin pants that have a breechskin-like cloth attached (note not an actual loincloth, just looks like it), dark brown moccasins, string around his neck holding a bear's claw and few beads, wears a thick belt that carries two tomahawks on the back.
Personality: eccentric, gives most people the cold-shoulder, introvert, prideful, snarky, strong-willed, bold, lonely
History: Nita's history remains much the same as his counterpart's, though with a few major differences. When British settlers made their homes close to his he did not at first approve of trade between them (though eventually saw benefits from and and agreed). When the Seven Years War ended and the British gained the victory he refused to give up his land for them. And where Shikoba failed and had to move west, he managed to succeed and kept his people's land. When 1784-1825 rolled around and treaties were offered he denied all of them. Though he was forced out of his land anyway and became very embittered towards the settlers. In 1830 he did, however, begrudgingly sign the Treaty of Dancing Rabbit Creek. As he knew he would not win the fight and stubbornly wanted to at least seem like he had some control in the situation. During the years that followed in 1831-1833 most of his people were forced to move from their native land to present day Oklahoma on the first Trail of Tears. Though Nita did not go with them, as he was one of the, though few, many Choctaw that stubbornly stayed and refused to be removed. They did not go into hiding nor pretend to be white, they merely stayed where they were until they were either killed or forcibly removed as well. Eventually their numbers dwindled until they had to accept their fate and willingly moved to Oklahoma themselves with the rest of their people. But Nita remained for a few days more. He was finally taken away when a rather nasty man in his middle ages fought with him with a makeshift weapon. A branding iron. Nita was beaten when others joined in and he was bound and branded as punishment, then sent to join his people. He loathed the Sooners and drove them away if ever they came to close for his liking. Though eventually years passed and the state of oklahoma was born. Nita and his people settled there and are now the third largest tribe in the state. They learned the ways taught to them by other settlers and, that along with their traditional ways of doing business, have developed a strong economy. (They too serve tradition in the military as code talkers).
