One day there was a free happy bird. She was the happiest bird in the world! The bird's name is Emilee. Emilee loved to be free, and she thought that she had nothing to worry about. Well, she was wrong, she ended up getting caught by a little person.

Emilee was practically kidnapped, and she just wanted to be free. The person took her in a weird building looking thing, and then she got put in a cage. This is the exact opposite life that she wanted to live. The little human started singing, probably trying to make Emilee happy. Emilee was at the bottom of the cage, and she looked sad.

The child tried to cheer up the bird. She even gave Emilee the name of Sunny. Emilee looked even more depressed after she got that name. She just wanted to be free. Instead of staying quiet, Emilee started singing sad songs. Only the child thought that they were happy songs. That is until her brother walked in and saw the bird.

"You shouldn't lock birds up. Can you not tell that it's sad?" he asked his little sister.

'I just want my home
Nothing else seems to be helping me
Why am I like this
Can't I just be free
I just want~ my home~
I want to be free~

I was taken without my consent
I feel like there's nothing left out there for me~
My life was perfect, but now it's not~
Why was I taken
Why can't I be free~
Nothing would make me happy, except for my freedom~

My life is a disaster

The boy could understand the bird. Somehow he was able to communicate with animals, but his family didn't know. They shouldn't know at all.

"I'm sorry. Can we let the birdy go then?" the little child asks with tears appearing in her eyes.

"Yes, yes we can. Why don't you go tell the bird that then?" the boy says.

"Okie." the little girl says then goes to the cage, and props it open. She then reaches in, and gently grabs the bird and then she takes it to the window and lets it go.

"Be free Emilee." the little girl states then closes her window, and then she goes and hugs her brother seeing as he's waiting for one.

"That's my little sister." he says wrapping his arms around the little girl.

Emilee is just watching from outside the window surprised that that boy understood her.

'Just go. I'm sorry for what my little sis has done to you, but you should go. Be free again, Emilee.' he says to Emilee through mind reading.

'Thank you.' Emilee says and then she takes off feeling a new determination inside her. She also was thinking about whether she would see those two humans again. That's what she was hoping for.

Once again she was a happy bird, and nothing would make her sad ever again.

-5 years later-

Emilee was about to head out, and try to find the humans that had made her realize that there was more to life, she saw one of them in the tree that she was in, and the other was on the ground.

She decided to go and fly towards them.

"Look! It's a birdy!" the girl shouts excitedly climbing down the tree.

'Hello!' Emilee sings.

'It's you, isn't it?' the boy at the base of the tree asks.

'Yeah, it is.' Emilee sings again. She then flies around the two humans singing very happily.

The next few years, the last few years of Emilee's life, Emilee stays with them. But she doesn't stay happy, because she lost one of the two humans. And so she died that same day that the little girl died.
