Apparently, this somehow published itself, blank, as "Untitled Part 23" at some point, despite the fact that I don't think I've told Wattpad to create another part since the Twinkle Twinkle thing I posted, and I certainly didn't tell Wattpad to publish a part I never created. I am not amused. I come here to write about a way that technology has failed me, and it goes and fails me in a different way. 

Anyways... I can't get a Minecraft map. I've tried twice now, and considering that's how many tries it took me to get a mod (despite running into a problem not mentioned in any directions I could find) I really should have managed the much simpler task of getting a file created by another person into my world save folder by now. 

The problem is, the mod is fine as a .ZIP file. A world-save really isn't. Technically, I have gotten the files into my world save folder-- but not in a form Minecraft can read. 

I've found directions, and they tell me how to fix this problem-- by using an archive manager. As far as I know, I don't have one. So I put "archive manager for xenial linux" into the search bar in Firefox, and after another click or so I wound up at a page in the Ubuntu apps directory. 

At the bottom of the page there is a button that looks like this, except it says "Available on the Software Center" instead of "Download Ubuntu," and above the arrow there's a little tiny spiky-bubble that says "free."

When I click on said button, Firefox tells me:

No hints as to what that other software might be, no list of protocols not associated with programs or of things not allowed in a particular context Or if the bullet-point is meant to be that list, they phrased it REALLY wrong. 

And of course if I try it on the Chrome side of things, it wants me to download Ubuntu and replace my current operating system or run Ubuntu alongside it. No thanks. I've already got an Ubuntu Linux system, it just is being frustrating so I was trying to add stuff to my file system from outside of it.

Wow, I just hit some weird combination of keys and it turned my last six or so characters into "!/'" in orange! I wonder if that'll show up when I publish this... Only one way to find out. 

And now I tell Wattpad "Publish Changes" and it takes me to this... 

It's "The struggle is real," not "Untitled Part 23," and it! is! not! a! draft! You said it yourself before, when you weren't supposed to, Wattpad, it's a published thing! Darnit!
