The past couple of days, I've been having trouble brushing my hair and it's been tangling quicker than it should. So I decided it was time for a haircut. 

I started with... let's call it medium-length hair. And I wound up with short hair. 

I apologize for the overall suckiness of my computer's camera. 

I cut my hair myself, and I'm rather pleased with the result. The two sides aren't exactly even, but I like it. Except for the fact that the bangs are too short to tuck behind my ears. 

This is not the first time I've cut my hair myself, and so far I've liked 2/2 haircuts I've done. Considering that I've never liked a haircut that I got at a salon, and only even halfway liked about a third of the ones my mom gave me, I think I know who is going to be cutting my hair from now on. (Me.)

Both times, I cut my hair with what I like to call my "magic scissors." They are a purple pair of scissors that I've had for nearly as long as I can remember, and although I think originally there may have been a matching green pair that came with them, since then I have never seen any scissors quite like them. I've seen scissors with handles exactly the same shape and color as my magic scissors, but they always have rounded tips, not the more slender pointed tip my scissors have. I call those ones "fake magic scissors."

I'm not sure I've ever had a failed project using my magic scissors. I have very much screwed stuff up when using fakes, though.

It's a magic skizzors, except it's not 'cause magic scissors can't be brand new and unused. They have to be used and loved and gain a stain or two before they count. An unused pair of 'magic' scissors, in my mind, is about equal to a fake... which I also found. 

And I'm really weird for caring this much about scissors and having a whole subset of my philosophy for them, but just deal with it. It isn't going to change anytime soon.
